TFW you can't play anymore

I learned that after trying to run Dark Souls 3 yesterday my PC would blue screen multiple times with different error codes. Then I went back to playing Tree of Savior in hopes it was just a fault in DS3. 30 minutes in grinding and waiting for dullahan, my computer does something I’ve never seen before. It freezes for 30 seconds before blue screening into a “Machine-check exception” error. RIP gotta diagnose and fix my PC. No gaming at all for a while…

FeelsBadMan.

Also, I’m not here for sympathy. I just felt like sharing my sad misfortunate story with you all.

Your GPU could be overheating… i had this problem before…even after cleaning it and changing for a new termal paste it didnt work…
My solution was to download MSI Afterbuner and underclock it…

Yeah, it’s a possibility. I got some error messages leading me to assume it’s memory related as well though. Getting 80C on my CPU and 60-70C on my GPU during high intense moments during gaming certainly doesn’t help either.

My plan is to go and replace all of my fans and clean out the dust that’s been sitting in my PC for 3 or 4 years. One of my fans on my radiator actually died so there’s that as well. I will also probably completely wipe my graphics driver with Driver Sweeper after the upgrade (if the PC still works) and reinstall it to make sure there are no conflicts with it.

If only I could get a reply on all the tech forums I’ve posted on to get opinions on what fans to get and what the causes of my bsods were. XD

BSODS are usually always a hardware issue.

If your game is constantly blue screening it’s almost always your graphics card and in rare instances a driver issue if you’re using a controller, custom mouse or keyboard.

Likely overheating though.

Sounds like your power box is old or isn’t strong enough to power your CPU/GPU fan. People often forget to upgrade their power boxes when their GPU needs at least 300w or so to run while they are supplying their computers with 150w or 200w power supplies.

Well, I wouldn’t say bsods are almost always a hardware issue. As a matter of fact, out of all of the blue screens I’ve had, the most recent ones I’ve seen are the first even remotely relating to hardware issues. Every blue screen I’ve ever had (and I’ve seen quite a few) were GPU driver or some other driver related, or my anti virus/other programs made a whoopsy with trying to access something. :nerd:
