Team Level EXP bonus and overal leveling thoughts

I never thought RO leveling and grinding system was perfect. But even there were maps solely for fast leveling with very average or even bad drop - Lab3 for expample. Or Thanatos tower.

One should always take the best parts and fix the flaws. That way one can make a decent product.

Yes, but not all maps, and, men if you complete Thanatos tower you can get some cool items. I dont want to disscuss, beacause this only relies on prefernces.

So now we have double EXP in dungeons and missions. Huge step to the right direction!

Never had any problems in 50-190 dungeons que.
You just shout: THREE RUNS WITH CLEAR VOUCHERS and the que is full of leechers :smiley:
And post 190 you just run 12 times in missions with one 8x tome and swim in EXP.

i mean, i can level to lv330 without doing a single mission/dungeon no problem

but, if so, whats the point introducing mission/dungeon… u make something coz you want people to utilize it.

given the low pop and idiotic queue system, it demotivates people to queue…

i can clear 1map in 1hour doing all the vibora kill count and quest etc, still more fun than queue 30min for a random group of people doing dungeon who knows if you’ll dc or not

just me though, if u okay with the current situation, yep, its fine~

I don’t think they’re too soft, the model has just changed. You’re expected to get to max level in a week or less so you can start the real grind for BiS equipment. And of course, the treadmill changes every six months so that when you’re done grinding you’re only a couple of months away from starting over.

Leveling is no longer the hurdle; getting the BiS and enchanting it to max and socketing and making it all shiny and chrome is. As an avid Diablo 2 player I don’t really have a problem with it, I just wish PvP was better overall.

On the other hand I can 330 without doing a single quest - I hate quests. So you can say, that there is variety in leveling in ToS - one can pop cards, one can grind mobs.

Maybe the other problem lies in servers. I play on SEA - quite a lot of ppl, que time is short. And with recent match with party system you always can go premade with friends and still have exp bonus.

Agreed. PvP what makes mmorpgs live through years, even decades.
But with such poor optimization I can’t even imagine proper PvP in ToS now. In Ragnarok i never had such FPS problems with over 200+ players on screen at one moment, as I have in ToS in just 5vs5 PvP. It’s a shame.

Team Level should do more.

It’s fine as a % exp boost. I like it, but if you look at the Team Level in the lodge you can clearly see they had more planned. It being a simple exp boost is a bit poor. Also you’re stuck at level 50 for so long.

Examples of what Team Level could do:

  • 5 Team Level, +1 movement speed
  • 10 Team Level, Team Storage Unlocked (for non-tokens)
  • 15 Team Level, +1 character / pet slot
  • 20 Team Level, +1 shop count (Pardoner, Squire etc. can have 2 out now)
  • 30 Team Level, +2 marketplace listings
  • 40 Team Level, 20% discount when buying from NPC stores
  • 50 Team Level, NPC shop Tax reduced by 50% (down to 25%)

etc. with levels 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 giving almost Token tier benefits.

Basically point is to give people who roll alts (as shops, farmers, supports etc.) more boosts to keep doing it. like at Team Level 20 enabling another shop up would encourage people to roll more stores. Less taxes on your shops and less money spent on ingredients to make potions / buy mats is big too.

I know many people who are rolling entirely new accounts just to have a 2nd shop or an AFK Necrofarmer because we are limited to 1 shop per account still.

It also rewards a long term dedicated player.

Between levels like 5, 15, 25, 35, 45 etc. should be things that everyone can find useful on their main character.

More stores in towns means more alive looking game and shop characters are major fun.

Just my suggestion.

Ain’t that the truth. I still find myself playing private servers of an old ass Korean isometric MMORPG called Helbreath simply because I love the PvP in that game. I kept playing Tera long after the daily grind had lost its luster simply because I liked to PvP, even the crapfest that was mass PvP was enjoyable to me.

What I wouldn’t give for ToS to not be run on a Casio calculator watch so that I could actually enjoy in PvP every once in a while.

I’m playing ToS form CBT1 with short breaks. I just like the class variety and lots of opportunities for different interesting builds. Hell, I consider this game an offline RPG. Like Diablo3 where you rarely need to communicate with other ppl.

Party xp bugged right now, party of 5 with atleast 3 diff class not giving xp bonus. Even with team lvl its slower than usual. Nvr for once, will they ever have new updates without some extra features tagging along.

Not that we are happy with the current state. Just the usual love the game hate the company nonsense. Sad it has come to this state. Imc really have no idea, its like theres no wake up call for them. I wonder wats really happening in their office, lets think of more ways to screw players, and milk them.

The problem with this double exp is that this will make the player skip even more maps. Right now when u do the lvl 50 dungeons directly as soon as u can u will get out with level 70 or something like that. This will make the next 4 (?) maps obsolete… and that sucks. Now with double exp we will skip even more maps.

I love being able to level faster, but right now it just kills the purpose of some maps

You are wrong.

The dungeon EXP does not make you get to 70.

If you are a non-token without team level 30+.

The dungeon EXP is balanced around free to players and that is exactly fine.

Plus you don’t have to skip anything at all.

I dont mind at all, not until the maps are interesting to play haha. Kill x amount of this, collect x amount of this, use V on something, use V then kill it, weak boss. Repeat
