Team level 3, level 134 (rank 5)... Not sure what to do to keep up with my new player friends

I posted this over in the ToS Reddit as well, but I was thinking I might be able to get different answers across both places.

Anyway!

I’ve been playing ToS since it first launched (got a couple founder packs). I’m currently level 134 and team level 3. I’ve taken breaks here and there and I came back to a “returning player event” a couple days ago that really didn’t benefit me all that much.

I have a few people playing with me who are new players, and it seems like they’re all going to surpass me within a couple days. They’re out-damaging me at half my level, they’re progressing faster than I could even dream of progressing, and I just want to be able to catch up to these newer players. My girlfriend came back to her level 44 character after a long break and received the new player bonuses (team level was 1 I assume) and within a day, she had reached the level of my 134 character. I know these new player bonuses are only temporary, but 30 days is a LONG time to have such massive benefits. And it looks like the new player event coming up tomorrow will just lead to me being left in the dust yet again.

I have a few tokens I can use (an event one and my 60-day founder one), 2 x8 EXP tomes, 1 x4 EXP tome, and 1 standard EXP tome.

I know I can grind out dungeons every day and all the usual stuff, but is there a way for me to level fast enough to keep up with all these new players? It’s really starting to bug me.

There is an easy solution: delete all your characters after using your Tokens and putting your valuables into the team storage (including silver).

The new event for new player starting tomorrow also includes accounts with Teamlevel 1, so as long as your Team level is 1, you’ll be able to participate.

Note: You have to be Team level 1 before the update, so if you want to delete your char(s), you have to do it until 21:00 server time (when maintenance starts)

If you have used your leaf penguin egg: You’ll most likely not be able to make it to team level 1 even after deleting your characters(without deleting your penguin), but there will be a new event starting tomorrow giving out items (mainly fortune cookies, dungeon multiply tokens and reset vouchers) every 10 levels from level 50 onwards.

You will be able to level on fields and in the lower-leveled hunting grounds better and faster after the update,though:

  • Reduced spawn interval of field monsters in the Tavorh Cave, Narcon Prison and Natarh Watchtower Hunting Grounds.

Increased Monster EXP Drops

  • Increased EXP gains from monster hunting in regular fields by about 2x.
  • EXP gains in Hunting Grounds will be about 1.5x higher than regular fields

I’m not really fond of deleting all my characters, and I have used the leaf penguin egg. I also have a TP companion as well as another that I got for silver. Not sure if those would keep my team level above 1 as well.

Is deleting everything/creating a new account really the ONLY way to progress? I like my character, and after spending 20 almost nonstop hours unlocking Appraiser, I feel like it’d just be a kick in my own butt.

The update’s EXP boosts seem nice, though. I might wanna stick it out, because I really like the character I have.

well, you can always go and level in Demon Prison 2 or Royal Maussoleions Constructor chapel until level 150/170+, it’s pretty easy and fast, and from level 160 onwards there’s Dina Bee farm (which is now free from afk-Necros) to level you to 180/190+.

No idea about the new dungeon exp,though, reports from ktest stated it’s bad and probably not so good for leveling anymore.

Yes this will keep your team level higher than 1. Pet EXP counts.

One way to keep up is to ask your friends to level multiple characters at once. You can catch up to their first character when they are leveling their second/third/fourth character.

Oof. Kinda sucks having one character at a decent level while someone starting this week will have multiple characters at or near max level. :sweat:

You can ask your friend to power level you if they don’t mind and passed you by a huge amount.

Then your only mean to level is doing it the “normal” way. Keep doing dungeons, quests, maybe grind. Grinding isn’t that good tbh if you don’t kill fast enough, so questing might be better for you.
You could also totally ask your friends to power-level you, indeed.
The new players event is really OP as they’ll be able to reach max level in a couple of days. Less than a week even if they don’t play too much. They’re full of items to boost their exp. They can literally log only to do dungeons/missions daily and still reach max level in a few days.
But basically you’ll have to play much more than them, and even then you might not be able to keep up.

I honestly haven’t seen a new player event like the ones ToS does. Like, wow, they really want new players to skip through the game in a matter of days, don’t they? Haha.

My friends haven’t caught me yet, as I’ve been going insane trying to level a fair amount. The fortune cookies given out have been helping a good bit, thankfully. Used my last x8 EXP tome, but with my team level slowly going up and token bonuses, I think I can keep going at a good pace. Been leveling with my girlfriend and she’s been hanging around the same amount of levels behind me (although that will change since i’m now out of tomes).

From the time of posting this till now, I’ve gone up almost 40 levels. Just gotta keep working at it, I guess, haha.
