Block penetration is not an issue at all.
You still need that little strength irregardless regardless.
Neither we know what is up in solmiki, nor is block pen needed.
So how is that not an issue?
(Investing 0 str means you literally have lesser than 400 block pen).
This will impacts all physical players as block will negate your damage. Which is the reason why general opt for minimal strength instead of 0
Gears can only provide you that much block pen there is cap limit.
If they had a block pen check every one is screwed.
And Iām saying itās not an issue. You donāt meet monsters where it comes an issue almost ever. When you do, there are a dozen other monsters in the area you cannot kill alone anyway.
Most of the end game is all about group play.
Having less of a chance to hit something on a remote map where you visit for 20 minutes max, to finish quests and then never visit again truly canāt be your only argument?
Not to mention most of your block penetration comes from simply leveling up, not stat allocation unless you go heavy in STR.
So if ET floor 21 has a block pen check of having you needing at least 700 block pen for meele ( which is reasonable about 100 str invested +300 gear)
with Mdef 5k. You can forget about ET? or are you making a all rounder character to excel in all content.
STR per point add 1.2 block pen. Hi.
A lot of IFs. Thatās all Iām going to say. Even with 0 STR you will have around 200 block penetration.
200 block pen is shown to fail BLOCK CHECK on ET f1 hogmas.
It means you are banking on Mages to clear block. Which they will not beable to IF ET floor 20 onwards have mdef + block pen.
It means your character is gone until you respec.
This is not alot of IF . This is call consideration. Not stupidly max min.
No one recruits a sword to clear the 1F.
I run dopple with inquistor to clear 1F and i works with 100 str invested. It clears even faster than MEME clears. Because this is a fact now.
You can build block pen with yellow gems in your gloves. So, you can skip STR.
ET is a content for few players wants a challenge. Before some one get full somiki, we will get a rise in level cap with one more rank and more gears. Like lolopanther now is skippable. In the end you donāt need to bother with ET.

So your argument is that in one remote map a monster can block you more often than normal and 1F of ET? Thatās it? Alright.

There is a cap limit.Same goes to Crit rate. Which is why we invest in dex.
Thats why new plate gloves gives block pen. So you will never be stucked with it.

This. Lolopanther is getting already out classed. People just run it with whatevers and aim for 5F and no further because they have so many alts. Building your characters un-resettable stats because of the 1F of one dungeon doesnāt seem that great of an idea.
Not to mention there are new gems just around the corner and plenty of gear with STR in it. Max Peta, Gladiator Band and gloves with penetration. Itās not unheard of to carry gear to suit the situation, however critical rate and DEX is a stat that is tough to get in gear but penetration outside of a few select instances is not ever even needed.
Just my thoughts. If you want to bank 100 STR because youāre afraid your damage is blocked then by all means, but if the trend follows from previous rank increasing contents it isnāt ever block penetration that comes to peopleās minds.
Itās critical rate. Because it scales down so heavily with your level and the resistances keep going up itās tough to say what is the better stat in the long run unless you can see the future.

STRvsDEX meta never changed. If you keep an eye on ktos, you will see DEX was always the meta since cbt. You still got little block pen per STR so, unless imc gives 1,5~2 block pen by STR. We still donāt need to bother with it.
Str do out do dex meta pre 1-7. Itās hit with a road block as Skill power gain vs scaling from phy is not there. Crit mod 1.5
Which make str obsoleted. Block pen will be there for PVP and minimal for block pening shield mobs.
You just need little invested with rank it automatically snowballs.
I am not going to swap equipment midway for extremely issue just to face block boss or etc. This is extremely difficult with IMC potatoes coding.
i believe those who have auto swap skills understand what i mean as well.

STR is extremely shiet now, itās basically a max min value to push when you hit crit rate cap.
Overloading dex for crit cap is lulz. Unless your class is specific all around crit and crit damage E.g Fencer.
Blud has high guard and guardian. If you notice on the reccent WB trend. So itās more of me to spec to precaution. 100 isnāt alot. 100 str = 222 str = 200 gain = 240 block pen. With this and high tier block equips + gem you can pen EVERYTHING without a care.
Also you need to consider if Meme are obsoleted now even in WB (2.6k mdef) Cleric are still able to dish out some nice damage with PD but still there is a limit since itās still magic.
Unless they are extremely funded ur magic aoe is literally gone. Without this ā¦ basically as a Meele DPS you have to do nearly everything (with archers)
Archers will never be able to pen Hogmas or shield mobs unless they are full str rouges or similar to that case
So in the case if you are not going to step into ET or anything as a group by all means spec full DEX. if you do want ET or anything itās safe to say specing minimal strength is better.
I am not against any spec i am more of weight out the pros and con.
Generally as a player wonāt you want to at least challenge the tower and clear it at least once? Unless you are those playing for fun with peers and ignoring personal goals or what not.
I peak ET as challenges with my group as my last objective. I guess this differ to each and everyone
I highly understand this spec which is why i am advising people to go High Dex.
Now as far there isnāt any issue with High Dex/Full Dex as there is no block check on mobs. (well only 1/5 in certain maps).
If you are avoiding those content with Block mobs etc. itās the same as why Meme avoids 315 without a higher tier rod. As they are useless in DPS check. Kill 80 Flying Dark mobs with 2k~2.5k magic def in 2mins.
So cheers. This is more of a choices on giving two side of the view then just specing only 1.
Then again itās a personal choice. As of now if you go 3:1 with a party centric and chrono you can still hit crit rate of 900 in ease.
The most important thing maybe you forgot. Block is chance based. Like infrorocktor in mage tower blocks you some times.
Block pen is valuable in pvp like you said but in pve? unless there is a mob can block 100% of time(I doubt there is one) we will need to stack STR.
I will never do ET because ALWAYS ET gears will be out classed in next updates. For me is better enjoy the game intead of getting too much stress with ET.
Well it depends. ET gear do sells good you knowā¦ for various reason.

Which is why Crit rate is the same ( 973 with 206 crit resist highest crit resist in the game?) .

If you are a group player and used to mmorpg~ small scale bossing/raid this is pretty much what TOS can provide you or your group at the end.
