Will this be available in this beta???!?!?!??!??!
bump… any info appreciated
buuuuumppp! shouldnt pvp content be tested as well? i mean with all the competitive players fron RO flooding in and all they should reconsider adding it back.
Been wondering this since beta started. Any info would be great.
please let us know about team battle league!!!
Enabling PvP as of now would be a bad idea, they already got too much work on their hands as it is.
Also If they aren’t giving everyone max level and equal gear - there would absolutely no point to even test PvP.
“competitive players fron RO”
Hahaha best joke of the year, you guys crack me up.
I read somewhere that the Team Battle League was supposed to have some level and other stat adjustments so it wouldn’t be a complete stomp fest, just a slight one. Either way its beta, and I would love to test pvp. Even if it is in a shabby state, just to experience it really. Seeing the videos on youtube it looks pretty fun, I wonder if theres any kind of exp reward for it so you can take a break from grinding/questing and get some xp from pvp.
"**
just a slight one
**"! xD.
Anyyyyyyways… the XP reward from PvP is a great idea imo, that would satisfy even the most bloodthirsty PvPers such as myself, from all the mindless grinding that makes me want to commit suicide.
Some of us actually want a real challenge when we level up our characters.
However - There needs to be some kind of anti afk/bot system prevention implented such as; awarding alot more for victories than losses.
oh im sorry most glorified WoW(most original game in the worlded) PvPer if most of the audience on ToS actually are from RO and that RO PvP required more skillz than ur panda kidie romp. so sorry mr casual, ur right we all prefer a mouthful of the nerf bat on launch.

Is that why RO has E-sport and WoW doesn’t? Ooooooohhh… wait a minute
What makes me casual? Because I think they should adress more important issues such as better infrastructure that is the cause to many of our current issues and the overall gameplay rather then tremendous hard work of trying to balancing alot of classes at this point, when we have not even seen all of the classes or all of the levels - then I don’t mind being casual.
Your logic amuse me.
they did? just cause their not on MLG, ESL, WCG or any kind of leauge/“major” gaming mainstream event doesnt mean they dont have one and arent as competitive? its even one of the mmos that pioneered the mmo comp scene back when MOBAs and ur centaurphilia game were non existent so get yo facts straight
77 countries? plzzzzzzzzz
so you enjoyed all the quest/mob grinding fest, good for you. but it wont save the game by itself, as i pointed out earlier the ppl on board are immigrants from RO(who wont shy away from pvp) and other pvpers from other games(including you). we need to iron out the pvp side early on if they wanted to develop it, with plans of tournies and ladders.
sordis atm are OP on PvE(3 shot boss kill?) but my experiences with duels with them with my cler(cleric>priest>bokor aka support) i can win 80% of the time. tree of sordi
kidz these days an their CoD pew pew tatatata OMG RILISTIC GRPHIXX!!1! 360-toss knife inda sky kill! i orc i keel human an cookie an cream bear i gank dem in panda town wohoo i so 1337!

Just because a game is from the Stone Age doesn’t make it really competitive.
And there is probably a few reason to why it isn’t mainstream hint hint.
You’re right I do not shy away from PvP, but I still believe its far to early to work on that area for numerous reasons that are self-explained at this point.
Oh btw just because you make bad impersonations of what seems like you're own generalization on people who did not come from grampa games doesn't make your arguments more believable it actually makes you look more like a clown.
you got me wrong with “mainstream” was meant say over-hyped/rated game, wow being the prime example. just because a game isnt in ur local game mag/site doesnt mean its not well received in other countries

“like you’re own generalization on people who did not come from grampa games doesn’t make your arguments more believable”
now, now, dont go flipping the table. youre the one who called us RO players a joke so dont spin that elitist argument back to me. your hypocrisy is just as deep as how ur heads stuck up ur bum.
WoW is da bestes MMO there is! dhur

Touché, I believe that said game require far more skill than your precious little dinosaur game, you believe the opposite.
I guess we both generalize to some degree gramps
well youre right there and that poop was uncalled for and i apologize. anywho getting back to topic, i believe imho that they want the title to excel in competitive play as the devs are from s.kor. the success of CoC was with its competitive nature, ladder and clan war. i think thats what the devs are planning for ToS too. the pvp side could be the toughest/longest feature to balance, even MOBAs are still tweaking and balancing their game. it would be swell if we could deliver our concerns early even if they were not to be addressed asap. plus im tired of the grind want to do something else atm
Yes, that is exactly why I think it is wise to save the balancing for last, because despite how much you boost or nerf something, there will always something that is the best for that patch, as with any little change that you do, you have to consider all the other classes/items/bosses etc. and that’s alot of work.
Tree of Savior could become really competitive, heck maybe even all the way to mainstream e-sport gaming who knows, lately it feels like more and more asian games made its way to the western market, which in return gives more flavor to gaming as asian games comes with other esthetics and vibes to them, which I think western games sadly lacks.
But first and foremost it is important to stabilize most of the core things that is causing troubles for people to make it playable, so that this beta (aka commerical jippo) get better reviews.
More people usually equals more money, which in return and hopefully results in more work being done to make this a great game in the end.
And maybe just maybe they’ll even be nice enough to make more alternatives to leveling other than mindless grinding all day and night e.g. Team Battle rewarding some sort experience (that’s just my own wishful thinking).
That way;
Those who love to zombie grind, can zombie grind to their eyes bleeds.
Those that are of a little more competitive nature such as you and I, would have an alternative.
In the end everyone would be happy?
if they add a good matchmaking system it could work. but if you could queue up with higher lvl chars then it would be a prob since difference in power between hi and lo are pretty noticeable. while i can see both of us queuing the moment we could, im also expecting ppl who are maxed out/ would max themselves out before joining in and then proceeding to stomp on lowbies.
as i understand(seen) this is how TBL actually works? everyone gets default gears so gear-wise were all even but lvls and attrbs still count?
it could still work tho if we swapped the arena with a larger map and added objectives similar to APB, where newbies were completing the objs while vets cover them doing most of the direct combat.
In order for it to be somewhat competitive not just complete stompfest were higher ones steamroll on the team with the lower ones, some sort of mmr and or queue group depending on what level you were would most most certainly be necessary.
If the current state is such that the gear is the only thing that gets normalized, then that is just ludicrous, gear is the last thing that has a major impact on the outcome of PvP as the higher ones would have a whole array of more abilities and points feed into them.
I am not conviced that swapping out the arena for a larger battleground style would help either as, glancing at some PvP videos from Korea shows that things just gets really really ugly if there is no real form of balancing involved in Team Battle League, but it would make a nice alternative to the old 5vs5 setup.
