Tanking endgame - questions

Hello, I have a few questions about tank builds:

  • Do I need lvl 10 Swash Buckling to take agro at higher levels ?
  • Does Peltasta C2 offers any real advantage ? (not including Swash Buckling)
  • Rodelero C2 Slithering makes me immune to all magic damage ? Even CC ?
  • Rodelero deals " enough " damage for pvp / solo pve ? Which skills ?
  • If I go Pelt c2 / Rodelero C2 will I be able to build damage on the last 2 ranks without loosing pve tankyness ?
  • Will I be able to tank earth tower with just pelt 2/rodeleo2 ?
  • How easy will be to find parties with build ? Will suffer from not having damage ?

thanks.

  1. Idk
  2. No, well kinda.
  3. No
  4. No
  5. Probably, idk what class though
  6. Yes
  7. Party now only needs SB so.

Can you elaborate more ?

Bump ! Really need this information !!

to put this “short”. C1 is enough for all game content for now.

you do not need to ‘evade’ magic with rodelero… just get few points in CON 50 is considered HIGH.
and you can tank it easly with healer…

more then C1 on pelt will feel like a waste. the other skills are not so amazing. there is no real advantage…

at one day you will realise a full party without your tanking, can do much better… they will probbly take a pelt1 who can do damage while taking the aggro. all your party can tank damage. but not keep aggro.

at the same day you will realise you actually need to do damage to get world boss loot. (even cleric support builds do high damage)

on the next day you will not be able to kill 1 monster without losing all health becouse you don’t have enough damage to clean it fast. (200+ mobs have high stats)
some magic monsters, some other monsters will hit you hard. and cannot be blocked or evaded. usally they are elite.
you will be really frustrated unless you have a healer, and damage follow you ALL time. which will not happen and you will be left behind in quest and other progress…

now for suggestions… fencer is somewhat more tanky due the fact he can also evade alot…
I also wanted to be a tank…
at the end I went for Pelt1>Barb3>doppel>dragoon

barbarian for stuns, and they help alot.
and warcry AoE 10 target debuff.
along with some nice damage kit.

doppel becouse it give you good aoe skill to help your party clean. and the only swordsman ability that have %scaling, deeds of valor.

Dragoon for the party buff, to give myself and party 15% magic defense, defense, magic attack, and attack buff. and for utility to use spears aswell.

basicly take a peltC1. stick your favorite class with it. and go for it.
don’t know much about rodelero.

hope my expanded point of view helps…

as far as I know, Swash Buckling has nothing to do with agro. The only thing it does is pull mobs. If anyone attacks the mob you just pulled it will turn to them straight away (correct me if I’m wrong). The thing that makes you keep agro is the swordsman rank 1 attribute that increases your threat generation by 500% at rank 10.

I would say that if there are enough mobs that you would need to pull more than 11 of them, then maybe just jumping in and swing is a better tactic since a few more mobs pulled wont really matter. Jump into the big piles and make sure they agro, then Swash Buckling will take care of the rest.
