[Tally] EXP rate opinions!

Keep in mind, the Korean version of the game does have different rates, and once you get to level 100 or so content stops being prepared and present.

i say the exp rate too low i can’t even get to lv 24 on beta

“Only” 15 hours a day.

Results are funny considering it wasn’t even a week ago that someone made a post claiming people who was fine with the current rates were in the “super minority”

How about an Exp Lock - after 8 hours being online you cannot recieve any Exp and Loot by killing trash Mobs with your current Character (doesn count in Town)

8 hours are more than the “Casual” player spends per day and less than a “Hardcore” player does. Fair enough for both sides.

On top of that increase the current Exp rate 2x -and- remove Blue Mobs (even tho i love them but RNG gonna kill such a concept)

“Casuals” may sleep in peace knowing they won’t fall behind as much.
“Hardcore” player can still gain an advantage by creating a pure crafting Character - or a Fun Chara just for the lolz - or simply testing other Classes they may like and Main them.

If anybody got ideas to improve this just make a direct reply - if you wanna bash it feel free too. xD

Putting a lock on exp is a horrible idea, I don’t think I even need to explain why.

Try to explain i would like to know why? 8 hours sounds okay to me. And as i mentioned the time spent in town doesn count.

If someone wants to spend 48 hours leveling, that’s their business. Forcing someone to stop doing something they think is fun because someone who isn’t as devoted to it and doesn’t want to fall behind is just immoral. This game isn’t a competition and there’s no reason that everyone should be locked to a time limit.

Most people that spend that much time don’t care about doing something “for the lolz” they’re actively trying to achieve something, throwing a brick wall in their path is basically saying “**** you” to their face. They might goof-off for a short time in between sessions before starting back up again and that’s usually more than enough for them.

Some like myself may even be physically unable to do much of anything else and see gaming as an outlet, I’ll spend an entire day from morning to night playing my current mmos sometimes weeks in a row, if I was confined to only playing my favorite class for 8 hours I’d quickly lose interest in the game itself.

Edit: forgot to mention “crafting classes” are rank 5 and 6, meaning you still have to level a character to get there.

Well look at this - first of all you cannot play 48 hours per day a day only has 24 hours - about 1-2 hours you are spending in town makes it 10/24 hours - you are sleeping about 8 hours makes it 18/24 hours so you got 6 hours left to do something else than grinding. Game includes PvP and most probably other things you can do.

What do you achieve with this? Less overcrowded Grinding spots. (Since this is an international version people gonna have diff schedule to play these 8 hours of grinding) - Easier to get parties since people gonna be closer in terms of Base Level and progress.
And for all of the Progress Gamer among us - finding the key for the most efficient Grinding methods still leads to a slight advantage.
People will love to team up vs higher Level Bosses for the sake of killing them faster and being most efficient in that way.

Purpose of this is to keep an overall “balance” Grinding 24 hours for 1 year doesn define you a good player

sigh i’m not even going to dignify this.

@sephi4321 Im with dironox XP lock is a horrible idea and it is fairly obvious that discouraging play of your own game is a bad idea. I feel like XP lock is the one way you could make me not play this game i would rather P2P then have a XP lock.

I normally detest when people marginalize someones comments instead of just countering it. But a lock on XP is a ridiculous idea.

@sephi4321 There is a reason games don’t do this. It’s a horrible idea, lol. There are alternatives that are a bit better though (Like a rested xp bonus that a lot of games use). Games should never punish people for playing their game. I wouldn’t advocate for rested xp bonus thoug, I think the xp is fine the way it is.

You consider a Limit of 8 hours per day of Grinding as a “Punishment”?
I don’t think it’s punishment at all if a company is concerned of the health of their players xD
8 hours is huge nonetheless.
Couple games worked with this concept - aka “Wartune” - okay they are no MMORPG but still - it worked and nobody complained cause its been there from the start.

And again the game does not stop for you - just the exp/loot gain from trash Mobs - you can still hunt bosses whatsoever and do Quests or other things

Oh and from a personal experience: The top Level players always check for other players level who are “competing” with them for the highest level - they continue to grind and kinda “forcing” you to grind more like they do unless you wanna fall behind - alot guys know this feeling - many guys ive been talking to had this feeling - and its not a good one xD this way you can still compete with these players by finding the fastest and most efficient exp/h

Basically you’re instilling a stamina system. People should be given freedom of how long they want to play. People who cannot play as much do not have the right to complain about other people leveling faster. It’s like complaining a pro player of a game is too good from practicing and should stop so you can feel better. It doesn’t make any sense at all. They can however complain about leveling too slow. Want a real life example of why this is bad? No Child Left Behind act. Dumb down education so the stragglers can catch up. Wonder why American education is so bad.

I do. It’s not the company’s responsibility to take care of my health. If I want to grind for more than 8 hours that’s my choice. I have never heard of Wartune but if it has a limit on how much you can exp then I probably know why I never heard of it.

I think you are grasping at straws. You mention competing with the top people, but this will only hold true for the first week or two. After that people will be hitting the cap but people will still be getting punished for grinding until the game closses. Someone joins the game late and wants to catch up to their friends? Too bad, they are going to be limited to some arbitrary number for their exp grinding. Which means even if you start a day late, you will never catch up to your friends if they are hitting the grinding caps. Starts two days late, you might never get to play with your friends until they hit the cap.

Horrible horrible system.

@Extzy

I am one of the “Hardcore grinder” and wouldn have a Problem with that - i am just suggesting it since nobody else does except for a lower or higher exp rate xD

@imissbrooke32

Catching up with your friends hmm thats a good point you got me with that - i know it’s not easy to implement something wich makes each and everybody happy - that’s why i feel with the devs right now - there will always be people complaining no matter what happens

And to further the point, the opposite of what you said is what happens. It won’t free up space it will make space much more congested.

Say the most hardcore are leveling in the 65-70 are map. Some hardcore players are in a 55-60. Some progressive casual people are in the 45-50 area. They will all progress and likely not see each other much at all in the normal system.

Now lets use your system, and say all three of those groups get stuck in the level 40 area. That means a LOT more people will be stuck in those maps and once they hit exp caps they have no reason to group. The only reason to still fight is to farm items and it makes far more sense to solo if you are just after items. So there will be far more congestion and competition for mobs. More and more people will in up in the 40 area and once the next day/reset timer hits all those people will be fighting for the exp in the same area again. It sounds like a nightmare.

Horrible horrible system. In many ways.

penalizing people for playing the game sounds like a great idea, you should get hired by the ToS team
