Hey all,
I’m thinking of going with s1>pelt1>barb3>dopp2 for pve and pvp I guess since I enjoy that.
Anyone else running or have tried this build?

C3 for pvp nothing else
@balintszabo111
When will peoples understand Highlander’s critical attack attribute doesn’t worth to pick this class C1 only for it! Or you go C3 or you don’t pick Highlander.
@windforce
For PvE, your build is nice.
Peltasta is best choice as for playing the role of the tank in party than for AoE DPS solo.
Instead of running all around to hit mobsters and agther them you just have to:
Use taunt, pull all the map, wait the enemies come closer, switch weapon and pwn them all!
On the other hand, this is not a build made for PvP/GvG.
You can handle it, but it you will never be as optimal than some Catas or Corsairs.
Thank you for the reply. This helps me in the fact I can relax a bit knowing I didn’t ruin my pve end game chances (I thought in fact I would be chosen over any other non pelt1 build).
I’ll probably make this guy 280 and farm, then make a pure pvp char once we find out what works and whatnot.
Exact same build as mine. Barb has great synergy with Doppel for PVE. It’ll be OK in PVP, but if you’re serious about the PVP in this game you would want to make a new character which is built for it.

… ok.
Let’s explain it a last time:
Let’s guess you have Vienie Twin Blade (+207 crit attack, because I want to give you good Crit Attack) and 3:1 str/dex build (436 str/91 dex); total 643 critial attack. With the attribute: 964 critical damages.
Great, you deal 964 bonus damages on crit…
Formula: (normal damages)*1,5 + 964.
If you think 964 bonus damages the few times you will land a crit with an heavy str build (and shock your target) is better than being able to tank for your party, go ahead pick your Highlander.
Edit: If you think 341 MORE damages than without the attribute the few times you will land a crit.
What are your thoughts on stat build for this path? I have only been pumping dex so far and still only level 45 ish.
I agree the extra crit isn’t worth the trade off
(Edited last post)
Since we need to be hit to stack DoV, and more STR you have, more this buff will be effective, I would recomand you 3str:1dex build with quests/statues bonus points in CON and plate armor for some survivability (it s what i m currently doing).
Once high level you will need to rely on gems, items and cleave to land crits.
If you want some more advice about it, here we go:
Since crit % formula is (crit.rate-crit.def)*(42/lvl) the higher level you are, the more crit rate you will need.
So if you want X% crit rate on lv280, just do the following formula:
(X/0,15)+60 [wich is, I think, average crit.def of normal monsters lv280]
So if you plan to have 33% crit chance you will need 280 crit rate.
The thing is do the same calculation with just 150 crit rate and the difference isn’t that big. It’s still just chance.
Right now I think the formula for critical hits is terrible. Gear and gems are your only way at some point because otherwise you’ll have to dump every stat you have into DEX and suffer with low damage criticals.
150 critical rate on lv280 is only 13,5% chance.
That’s almost 3 times less chances than 280. That is not the same chance factor.
But it is true, if you want to crit with swordy (wich have lesser crit rate and 0 crit rate buffs than archer), you have to waste all your gems and trinkets in crit rate PLUS at least 1/4 of your stats in dex…
Edit:
Deleted errors I just said, but I still prefer crit rate than crit attack.
it’s just a chance though that’s the thing
a chance
to gain 50% more damage + crit attack
that’s it and since you’re going so high on dex your crit attack will be low
crits are HUGE only if the enemy is also weak against your damage type (slash, pierce, strike)
Correct if I’m wrong, but isn’t Highlander’s critical damage attribute working on skills too ?
I’m not sure, but the skill description at Tosbase doesn’t say anything against it.

it just increases your crit atk. nothing to do with skills or autoattacks. The attribute raises your CRITATK by 50%. Its the damage which gets added on top of every crit (and isn’t a lot)
I see, thank you.
