Swordsman Stats Discussion - DPS and Tanking

So I have seen a ton of posts about builds but hardly any discuss stat allocation.

As a DPS Swordsman it makes sense to go STR and maybe some dex.

As a Tank Swordsman I am unsure. So far I have been investing 1:2 STR/CON but am wondering about the real benefits of extra HP as many bosses have attacks that are easily dodged.

Anyone have any further insight on stat allocation?

I didtributed my point as 3:2 str/con, highlander lv 55 7k health, i most forcus my equipment on item + con, + str, socket some hp gem and max attk. So far so good

I’m not sure if you could really mess up, hoplite in our party does best damage of anyone we partied with so far and peltasta just tanks any boss by blocking everything. Their stats are quite mixed so far (main points either focus on str or con). The class feels really imbalanced imo. Our friends that played wiz have changed job after reaching c3 and still being trash compared to the swordmans.

I’m making kind of a Hoplite tank, so far i only invested in STR and CON, how much points should i invest in DEX to get a decent accuracy?

HP could play a vital role when grinding… I mean yes you could dodge attacks in boss fights but not all mobs hits when grinding. So yep I think the 1:2 str con isn’t bad.

Though on the dex, I’m still not sure what’s the safe accuracy point is.

HP and STRG Is really important to DPS if u want to tank obiusly…

Here is my opinion as a tank swordsman lvl 120.

I did SW1/PLT3.

My stats are 1STR/1CON/1DEX

I played most of the time solo so that’s why my stats are kinda dps oriented. At the release i’m planning on playing in a regular group so i think i’ll play it different.

I started by doing a 1STR/1CON build, but my dps was not so good since i had no crits. Plus no dodge. Since i restat, it is now much more easier.
As a peltasta, there is some skills you NEED to get first as they are really overpowered when you get them.
First circle, i recommand taking Umbo blow over Rim blow. They have roughly the same damages, but umbo is multi target, and have an attribute for stun AND more knockdown. Then do a mix between guardian and swash buckling since you’ll need both of them for first dungeon.
Second circle, I recommend to NOT TAKE shield lob. Take high guard level 5, umbo lvl 10 and a mix between guardian and swash buckling, depending on what you prefer.
Third circle, that’s where the OP stuff is. You don’t have to overthink about it. UMBRO THRUST ALL THE WAY. It adds between 50% and 100% of dps on bosses depending on how much armor thye have. It will decrease with level since it looks like to be a fixed number of point than a percentage. But at the level you get it it is clearly overpowered. then at lvl 6 take high guard lvl 6 and get the umbo blow enhancement, it does a lot of damage when you get under high guard.

I might have forgot something so if you have any questions about peltasta you can ask me.

Could you share you’re skill tree in the simulator? That is an interesting build… So 1 STR/ 1 CON/ 1 DEX for the stats. I might take up on that. Thanks man. For ranks 5-6 I’m planning to take Squire1-2

I’ll do this asap. I am actually lvl 128 and just got rank 5, I choose rodolero 1, though I am not hyped by the skills.
I am afraid that picking squire rank 5 after peltasta will make my solo time a nightmare. But you can try this is a beta after all.
Edit : here is my skill build so far http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/oaodt1r9p7/
