With the new formula for concentrate (STR0.04 + DEX0.02)*(level-1), is it worth getting it to higher lvls instead of taking double slash ?
Thanks.

Is nice for the early levels with maxed attribute. Later is just okay because the scaling is just meh. IMO having doable slash is a pretty nice filler for your rotation having in consideration that is the most decent attack skill after spending 3 circles in sw.
Also, if you go sw3, go for pain barrier lvl 15. I think is one of the biggest reasons to go
sw3 (alongside with restrain if you want to pvp).
Yeah I went for pain barrier 15,bash 3,gung ho 3,concentrate 9 and restrain 10. I took steed charge to test it out, so I have to reset my skills anyways.
Double slash will pull out 6*530+atk plus crits every 21sec, with 35%crit atrib it will pull something around 13~14k.
Concentrate from lvl 9 to 15 theres about 160 dmg gap (full str build), so for multi hit skills like dragoons (6~7 hits not sure) it gives 960~1.120 extra dmg and for rush its 486 every second so 4.860 total.
Double slash pulls better dps for the 5 skill points you spent.
I’m cata 3 atm so maybe you can help me here, when I get to dragoon will I need double slash as a filler ??
Thanks.
put 1 point into double slash and rest into concentrate
/20petamions
sword 3 is a pvp class, for dps purposes there are better choices
as someone who plays sword 3 for a long time i have to say that this buff is a very nice dps boost, i definitely would not get it over double slash though, double slash is a great skill.
for pvp purposes lvl 10 restrain and a high lvl pain barrier is better though, i still have double slash on my cata.
I didn’t get Gung Ho due to it’s pDef reduc and buff slot limits (personal preference, I used to only have Gung Ho and not have Concentrate before but resetted after Concentrate rework).
It’s nice when you’re going against magic classes though as well as if you went with a high-evasion build and equip set.
Also, it gets factored in with multipliers (e.g. with Serp debuff later on).
If you went Sw3 Cata3, IMO the most optimal, well-rounded Sw3 skill distribution would be:
Bash 3
Gung Ho 3
Concentrate 9
P. Barrier 15
Restrain 10
D. Slash 5
Just get a Durandal (+2 all sword skills) and equip it when buffing your Sword buffs then switch back to your main weapon.
Once R8 hits and I reset, I’ll definitely go with the above build for Sw3.
Max D.Slash. You can even kill someone by just chaining a simple Bash + D.Slash combo thrice (or just spam all D.Slash overheats if you have Restrain on).
It’s also a great filler/finisher when everything else is on CD, and gets even better with Serpentine’s bleeding. Does 50% more damage against Cloth [top] wearers too.
Why do you guys mostly like double slash? And why the hate on gungho?..max gunho is like having a +15 cata pike from +5 cata pike🤔or like having a stage 2 cata pike from 0…
The phy def reduction equally supports the added dps…of all skills…
To me? No. I just dont think AA is a good idea to make good use of it.
seems ok by me. Though i would pick gung ho just because i dont wanna bother with casting concentrate.
Gungho
level 5 - 20
level 10- 35
level 15- 50
Attribute accessible at lv3
Lv3 + attributes 50 PA, 14+50 ~ 64
Lv15+attributes 50 PA, 50+50 ~ 100
basically you wasted several skill points to get 30 more PA (if lv5-lv15) it’s not bad, but come on you could eventually do more dps with pain barrier berserking
exactly,
this is where IMC fail…
its a big fail if a skill thought to be useful, then in reality, its not.
Thrust and Gungho is swordman1 trap.
i tried the Thrust double thrust attribute thingy, it gives me extra 80dmg at lv280 lv50 attribute…
i lol’ed
I fell for the trap in cbt days, “Oh shi! gungho looks OP! concentrate hits runs out fast!” I will reroll my Sw1-HL1 to Sw2!
2 weeks later, big regret, never again.
But concentrate right now is “okay” I guess
One thing I realized though after doing several non-ET end game things, PB15 will be much more relevant for PVE purposes
almost every boss every mob does knockdown it’s making me mad even with 900 evasion
thats why, some knowledge are learn from rolling many many alts and having hands on experience themselves…
you can read 10000 forum but you still dont know exactly how let down some skill are, until you hit the trap.
and thats why, i am against any kind of reset, so everyone will be learning, experimenting, discovering and having fun~
Not by going for meta rush to lv280 then kill the whole ecosystem
sorry off topic… i need to vent/rant…
on topic
this is the best/optimal/efficient skill allocation for sw3.
tested and proven by multiple swordman-veteran player.
atleast valid for now. subject to change if IMC buff/nerf.
if u are going for doppel u should get gung ho, for any other build concentrate is fine, its like a personal blessing or something. but in the end it will only make a diference in pvp, cus ppl have low HP and u usually have low dmg cus need high CON to survive
