Swordman>Swordman>Barb looking for stat advice

Hello everyone,
I plan on going Swordman>Swordman>Barb>Barb>Corsair>Corsair.
I dumped almost everything in DEX as i heard it is quite viable as Barb/Melee in general.
But my damage is kinda lacking and i don’t crit TOO often. Also, is full dex barb only worth it, if I would have been a highlander before, because of the 2 handed crit attribute?

Should I put more in str? What ratio?

So yeah… if anyone could give me advice about the stat distribution, I’d be grateful!

You need a really good weapon to go high dex ( like a Lapis Katzbalger ). If you can get your hands on one, great. If not, you’ll need more STR. You’ll feel the crits once you hit 80-90 dex. Even more if you can party with a krivis using zalciai. You will miss out on the big crits without going highlander, but you’re going corsair anyways so it’s not a big deal.

Thanks for your quick answer.
Do you have advice on how much str? Like the dex/str ratio (maybe even some con)?

I’m doing the same and im levelin the stats as 1STR:2DEX

You following any build?

No not really following a build, but I guess i know what skills I should level and so on.
So you put nothing in con? How is the 1 str 2 dex working out for you?

EDIT: You are welcome to share your build though, if you got one

Don’t have any haha, was asking to check some skills that I’m not sure if to lvl up or not :stuck_out_tongue:

Right now I’m lvl 71 and I’m doing quests of my same lvl and I’m doing ok. I think I’ve got a normal damage.

Cool thank you, this will be my build btw http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/kh5v6wemwk/

Anyone else has some suggestions?

Thanks man  Do you use bash?

Not really, just heard its good for the knockdown if needed. Thats why its lvl 3 (required for knockdown attribute)

what a bout swordsman c3, highlander and corsair? u can get max restrain with it, and crit bonus and catar stroke

hmm never thought of that, although the thought of being swordman for so long irks me haha

Well i have read so often that barb is the way to go. Also, the 2hand crit attribute would be good for nothing cause you dual weild as corsair

Hello. I am going for the same class as you. I have mostly put my stats on DEX and STR. I am now at Lv64. I am maintaining a 20 points difference between the two with DEX having the highest value. Still experimenting for the moment. I haven’t put any points on CON; doing well so far.

Regarding my skill build:

For Swordsman Rank1; I did not put anything on Restraint. I think I don’t need the resistance for knockback/stagger because I think the high DEX allows for dodging attacks most of the time. So, I have Max Bash, Max Gung Ho, and Max Concentrate.

For Swordsman Rank 2, and Barbarian Rank 3 and Rank 4; we have the same skills. Cleave and Seism are great for mob control. Helm Chopper and Seism have stun effect; which also compliments with Pommel Beat and Cleave that give additional damage to stunned enemies.

For the Corsair Skills:

The increase in Lv of Jolly Roger only adds to the duration of the buff, so I think it is better to not max it out at Lv10 and just put the other points on a more useful skill. The cooldown is not that long even at low Lv so I could just cast it again if the buff expires.

The attack of Dust Devil at Lv10 is only equal to a Hexen Dropper at Lv5, so I won’t be getting that. I would probably go for Iron Hook + Keel Hauling because Keel Hauling at Lv5 already has 615 Attack.

Still having second thoughts on getting Unlock Chest. Based on the description; I may still need a Key to open a chest. I think the skill Lv only adds additional Lv to your current Key Lv, but I am not really sure. Any idea on this?

And of course, max Double Weapon Assault. I would be relying on my normal attacks more often than my offensive skills so this buff would be very useful. (Also goes for Gung Ho and Concentrate.)

Hey tancinco, thanks for your input. I am not too sure either of the skill points for corsair, first I thought I shouldn’t go higher than lvl 1 jolly, but my thought was when grinding in a spot for a long time:
when the flag goes away and you recast it, doesn’t your combo restart as well, resulting in less damage? Also, is there a maximum combo limit for jolly roger?

Good point. Well, I was thinking of maybe at least Lv4 Jolly. That would give 60 seconds of the buff. Probably long enough to dish out a good amount of combo/damage on one spot?

Now that you mention it…Lv10 Jolly would give 170 seconds of the buff. And without a maximum combo limit, you could really do some insane damage. But this would only be applicable on boss monsters. Normal mobs would be wiped out at around 60 seconds or less.
