Swordman class need a nerf!

This game is not focused on PvP (at least for now) so the balance they do is gona be around PvE and not PvP, also Energy Blast does need a nerf, is a low cost hig reward skill that does hig AoE dmg with knockback, imo they need to change it a little maybe remove the knocback increase the cost (10%-15% sp per lvl chargued) increase the cd, dmg is kinda fine.

Back on topic, i do think they do a lot of dmg (12k at lvl 200 when cap is around 500) but i also belive the main problems is the AI of mobs, they dont fight back, they just stay there looking at you and maybe attack once while the swordis jump and 1 shoot them.
If anything improve the mobs AI, hp, dmg, defence instead of asking for class nerfs, would make the game a lot more fun when theres real challange and not just goign around 1 shooting packs of mobs with auto atacks.

Iā€™m not sure about that, searched for Korea CBT 3 on youtube and it is like 7/10 of those videos are relate to swordman classes

Congrats, you posted some glass canon videos, whats the point? I canā€™t see anything that is too strong/OP.

those people who always wants nerfs, even in a beta are pure cancer.

Iā€™ll take your word for it. Thanks for your input. :kissing_heart:

To be fair, I went ā€œglass cannonā€ as well. Still had higher defense and hp pool than most people I partied with.

You point out it, it still pretty safe to build pure offensive for swordman because monsters canā€™t hit them hard enough.

If you say ur swordman got 1 shot by bosses then I have to say it is same with Wizard build INT+SPR, solo high lvl quest boss as a Wizard is just so painful because you canā€™t rest in boss fights, you have to burn both mana and HP potions (or just keep dying and use icoin to rebirth)

edit: BTW if you ask to nerf Wizardā€™s Energy Blast, then idk how the hell support classes like linker can do quest boss or grind lvl without depend on others

QQ barbarian main

the beta is realised for balanced the game

you are soā€¦ c ?

Labelling the builds as ā€œglass cannonā€ doesnā€™t invalidate the fact that Barbarian-based builds were OP.
If you can run around 1-shotting most mobs, you can grind pretty safely anyway and a swordsmanā€™s big HP pool gives him quite a bit of survivability, so not exactly ā€œglass cannonā€.
Either way, Barbarians have been nerfed now, thank god, time to find another build. This time there might be some more thinking involved than ā€œBarb X3 max Aggressorā€ builds.

Here I thought Hopliteā€™s Stabbing skill is a button smashing skill, so it would make sense if the faster I smash, the more dmg I dish out. Turns out the number of hit is predetermined, after I dished out some dmg, I can still smash and the character still stabbing, yet no more dmg comes out ā€¦
Very disappointed.
Compared to all these crit Barbarian ā€¦

@SyncX To be honest, Aggressor Barbarian builds seem more viable when going for Corsair even post-nerf, since you can socket both main and offhand with Green Gems. More Gems means more critical rate means more profit.

@GoldenCross Does this mean the iCBT build is older than the kCBT3 build? Here I thought they were the same, lol. That said I saw Aggressor builds still working, unless they were nerfed now after both betas.

It seems like the only viable build in my opinion. Thatā€™s why Iā€™ll be devastated if they nerf it to oblivion. :pizza:

Full crit rate gem and stuff i guess, At level 3 green gems are like + 11 crit rate in shield and +8 crit rate in weapon, so I assume level 5/6 gems x3 on weapon and x2 on shield to give him like more than 100/150 in crit rate * 1.85 from barbarian c3, so about 200/300 crit rate with the dex, I know that level 5 green gems on weapon is + 22 crit rate iirc, so it might absolutely be possible that with level 5 green gems, or level 6 green gems he can achieve a monstrous amount of crit rate with only 6 in dex.

But aggressor is getting nerfed to the ground on KRCBT (next patch not live yet), basically the attribute that increase your crit dmg goes from 35%/attribute level to 5% and the crit rate increase is nerfed, so that you have to pick highlander to have crit dmg modifiers and that you are forced to use a 2H Sword so that you canā€™t have all the gems in your shield that increase your crit rate as hell.

Imho barbarian was a little bit too strong and not totally OP compared to the other DPS classes of C3 AS A GRINDING CLASS it was bad to mediocre in PVP and a lot of other classes (in C3) were better at AoE big packs of mobs and/or bossing.

The iCBT build should be based on the kCBT3 build too.
Now that the beta has ended for most people, there were a select few that went into a draw to participate in the extended beta. Here are the patch notes in Korean for this extended beta, use google translate or something and see what you can make out:

Even Peltastaā€™s Swash Buckling range is getting nerfed, it works on an area now and not the whole screen

Well, frankly this comes down to your preference. If you prefer a fast-hitting build, Corsair is the way to go. Also if I understood this correctly, Savagery will work on your offhand dagger. While Savagery does seem to just split the normal total damage into multiple hits, there is an attribute that also makes your Stab attacks more likely to crit. I can definitely see Corsair builds being the best builds to stack Crit, which will most likely be important against mid/late game enemies and bosses, as Enemy Critical Resistance may become a problem at some point.

Another thing a lot of people have to understand, is that while the Two-handed Barbarian build and even later dual-wield builds may deal insane amounts of damage, this is only true for enemies that are weak to Slashing (in the case of the Highlander approach) and Stabbing (for Corsairs). Fighting golems and the kind with Stabbing and Slashing weapons is gonna be so fun! :anguished:

On that note, werenā€™t there some weapons that had 3 sockets? I can already see them being insanely expensive.

Also, if they nerf Barbarian into oblivion, I guess I will just go with this Centurion build. That Wedge tip is reserved for Doppelsoldners and Corsairs. Back full of high STR Archers and my sides Clerics/Wizards. Letā€™s see if they nerf Centurion then, too. LOL

@GoldenCross, Thanks for the patch notes.

for saviorā€™s sake, BARBARIAN is NOT SWORDMAN why would you want they to nerf swordman because of BARBARIAN OPness ? get your shjt together man

so all class will get nerf
cleric base class

  1. increase base p/m deffend but remove cloth and plate mastery < why?
  2. paladin smith skill, decrease damage, decrease a chance to knockup target, increase cooldown

Balance is a very complex topic - do you want balance for low level? (0-100 e.g.) Do you want balance for endgame? Do you want balance for PvP?

Yes, swordsman/barbarian might seem strong in the earlier levels, but at 400+ it might be completely different. We also donā€™t know how well glass-cannon melee builds will work on the really high levels.

I think itā€™s too early to talk about balance, sure, it should be avoided that 80 % of the players roll barbarian at launch, but from what Iā€™ve seen so far in the iCBT there was a really good class variety (all classes were equally represented roughly).

Itā€™s so you can build evasion on Clericsā€¦

Wtf did I just type? :scream:

yeah I have a plan to play full dex or half str/dex cleric in a next cbt
but that plan is base on plate mastery this attribute is very op with lv20 plate mastery my lv 58 krivis have 31xx hp and 18x p def
almost monster that is not use arrow or magic type did 1 damage to me.
if I play full dex (crit build) or half str/dex with plate mastery it might be funny.

Swordsman classes have been nerfed after EVERY test and even in the middle of some. In fact, they just nerfed it AGAIN. And people are still complaining that it needs nerfed. They can only nerf it so much before it becomes totally worthless and then people will start complaining about how weak it is.
