Survival event (just ranting)

  1. You don’t. Don’t even try if you love yourself.

But let’s say one can, jokes and ragequit aside…

  • Remember you have 1 hp inside. Stats don’t matter. Nothing matters. Only death.
  • Unequip everything because it will break when you die.
  • You have… i dunno 2-3 mins to survive?
  • You can actually come back or use soul crystal, GIVEN there’re others still alive inside. Once everyone dies, it’s over. 1 run wasted.
  • Orsha is the respawn point even if you enter Klai. You have to run a long way back.
  • You can bring your pet, they will also aggro the bosses so leave them to die.
  • You have 10 seconds before it starts like other dungeons. But if you’re like me, it’s likely started before the screen even loads, and you enter with your char already a corpse.
  • You need have to have good connection. You lag you die.
  • You need to have good fps. You freeze, you die.
  • You need to be lucky, because wtf, I was standing on the corner, with no Boss/aoe in view, suddenly, I die.

_ps: i do have a friend who’s managed to get to stage 3. apparently you can jump on some aoe’s. the event is stupid. i wanted to try but why pile up the frustration. so instead, i’ll just watch twitch. maybe i can watch others die.

Jumping the only problemeatic AoE (shadowgaler’s) is kinda easy. i have 200ms and i managed to jump 5 in a row no problems, you just gotta get the hang of it, if you wanna learn out side this dgn, go lvl 50 dungeon lol.

I have managed to clear stage 1 easily SOLO, as a team it may most likely be harder unless you skype. As a team though you can reenter dungeon if someone is still alive inside.

They follow a 8 pattern, TOP right to TOP left to DOWN right to DOWN left and so on I believe.

why would it be harder with a team? are there less bosses? i haven’t tried solo yet and there’s the benefit of someone (like you) who actually can keep the instance open.

It can be harder if it’s not cordinated and you have a boss aoeing your whole team (including yourself) from out of your sight.

Being alone, and being able to lose aggro and seeing what you are gonna be shot with helps more than not seeing what they are gonna throw at you.

good for you. my friend’s good at it as well. and they did it with only two of them, so what you said about 5-team being harder may be true. i already did manage to survive for 1 minute by finding a peaceful space. but i didn’t know about still getting hit from afar -_-

With 5 ppl it is definitely harder and imo it is not worth it. You just can’t control what others will do…everybody would want to escape from bosses… so every bosses actively going around/putting down traps etc…

I think it is meant to be a solo dungeon and I actually think there shouldn’t even be an option for more players. On the other hand maybe with exactly 2 players it is better than 1 but I’m rly not sure.

The reason why soloing this event is easier than a party is due to the aggro movement pattern of the bosses. In a one player mode the player can easily gain the aggro of the boss and move them to one section of the map while leaving other parts of the map free to move to in a pitch.

Vs an uncoordinated party where everyone run is different directions it will be hard to predict the movement patterns and attacks of the bosses, making it significantly harder to dodge and survive.

Think of it like playing a Shoot 'em up (STG) game where you delibrately stay at one area to bait all the “bullets” to aim there then quickly move to a clear area when they fire it.

The event also works like an STG, when something hits your character (airplane), you die. Just that we don’t have bombs to save us. :3

this event is funny yet stupid… i find no reason to play

I don’t get it…why does IMC consistently make instances that are better to solo then party? People already solo crystal mines and 290 for loot becase the drop rate doesn’t scale up.

I believe in a well coordinated party, the event will be much easier than soloing. But this coordination is hard to ask for in PUG (pick up groups, random parties). In the survival genre, players need to work together to survive the odds. It is a tall order for iToS since most of us don’t even bother to greet or talk to each other in missions/dungeons. We just do our own stuff and that’s it.

We are missing communication and interaction between players.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the next few days there will be groups that will clear the event. Like for example each one of the players hit the one of the bosses to gain aggro and pull them to one corner and manual dodge there.

Perhaps it is good for a controversial event such as this to be implemented, really good event for players to discuss and share strategies on how to team and work together rather than silent random parties in DG/mission/saalus runs. That is, if our community here can get pass the initial bashing and hate.

It is cause its IMC we talk about. With the average creeping down more and more, you will have difficulty finding people to do the stuff. But if you can solo it… no problem.
