Tree of Savior Forum

Survey: Wipe or Not?

Wipe is it necessary? the facts indicate that currently the game Tree of savior has the following problems:

1 - Players who have used bugs and hacks and enriched unfairly destroying the market economy causing the IMC company to not solve the problem without causing damage to many honest players.

2- Many gold sellers and a failed in-game buy-and-sell system allowed the game to become a place where a mafia of gold dealers allowed BOTS to turn the game into a clandestine trading of virtual items causing imbalance in player versus player game between players with high purchasing power and poor players.

3- Servers without stability and full of problems like lag, freeze, glitch that are never solved by receiving all type of attack hack, by tools available on the internet, even running from the control of the company IMC itself.

Among many other problems it is not possible to write everything here, I ask you players:
Would it be better to start over? And does the IMC company restructure the game market and focus on a strong system that prevents illegal trade within the game and hacks program attacks? Currently the game Tree of Savior is totally disorganized, full of bugs hacks lags and all kinds of problems that a ridiculous mmorpg has. The game is great but needs a total rebuild in the protection of the player and the internal defenses of the game. A way for the player to play knowing that the IMC company has full control over their game and servers, and not external thugs making money at the expense of the game.

The server really need a wipe

while a wipe sounds kinda welcoming, let’s face it - who would startover after a wipe? I wouldn’t…

a wipe would kill off most of the remaining population and is 100% a bad idea.

Losing more than 2 years of progress would not be fun.

I lost my stuff so screw everyone else too = Wipe

same as those who want rollback, I cant stop sensing the ill intentions on every post they make like a black taint that makes each word stings like literal poison…

maybe it’s just me. . .

alot of people also being very vocal for rollbacks because they have done mass anviling/ichoring and encouraged their guildies to do it too during the whole fiasco thinking that imc was going to rollback.

If Imc rolls back then they can complain that they had weapons and items at a high anvil rate if they anviled well, and not complain if they broke or got low anvil rate.

In the other case if IMC doesnt roll back then they get to complain all they want about how the game “needs” a rollback, even when it doesnt and is feasibly a bad idea from multiple perspectives.

What TOS needs its not a wipe, TOS needs to die because its core is a mess(fps, lag, inestability,no hack protection), and then follow the rute that FFXIV made, and launch TOS2 taking in account all the bad experience to build something better.

Guessing the people who want the wipe are all on the containment server.

People shouldn’t vote for a wipe:
a) Not gonna happen in the first place
b) Most innocent players would be pissed about having their entire progress wiped and quit. Why start again when another wipe could happen in the future?
c) Most players who think about returning wouldn’t return. Why return to a game, put money and months of work in it, knowing that at any time they could do another wipe?
d) Doing a wipe would give a precendent what should be done in similar situations in the future. This then would entice hacker trolls to cause similar situations in order to troll the playerbase with more wipes.

How would a wipe solve this problem? Unless something is done to prevent these exploits in the first place, these people would just start exploiting again after a wipe.

If goldsellers and bots are possible now, how would a wipe help against that?
After the wipe, goldsellers and bots would just return and would quickly gain millions and millions of silver again while players would have to manually collect everything from scratch. Bots don’t care about their stuff being wiped. Honest players however care whether their stuff gets wiped.
A wipe would mostly harm innocent players, not the botters, and thus would not be a good solution.

This problem wouldn’t be solved with a wipe. A wipe does not improve netcode, gameplay code nor anti-hack routines. A wipe does not make internet sites with TOS hacks go away. A wipe does not make hackers suddenly see the light and play fair. Quite the contrary, i’m sure many honest players would go “eh, fck it” and start exploiting, too.
.
Yes, the game badly needs improvements, especially regarding exploits, however, i don’t think it’s financially possible nor good for the playerbase to take the game offline for a year in order to reprogram the game, all they can do is slowly but surely change things with many patches.

Doing a server wipe? Why not… but when the game is complete (aka the “real” endgame has been implemented).

And now what to do with the TP spent? Imagine the poor sob who spend thousands of $ on gatcha just to get the Golden Puppy or the Giltine Wings… Even if they were able to recredit all TP used for two years, it would be unbearable to lose all items everyone paid for.

SOme ppl Want Wipe Some Dont… I want to see what TOS comunity is thinking.

This would be the best, however, utopic solution. My heart want to believe that there’s a slight possibility of ToS becoming the game we want (or at least, decent), but my mind keeps reminding me that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Nexon (which bought IMC) already proved that they can make a game that looks better than ToS (consider it’s mobile) - The graphics and animation are surely great.

I don’t know, man. I just keep playing ToS because that’s nothing “better” in the action fantasy niche.

Nexon didn’t buy IMC

We players and IMC are in a company-customer relationship, not a democracy.
A real democracy of customers and the company could be very harmful if not even suicical for the company.

Call it what you want

Wow, this just looks like a topic made in a Private Server forum. Wipe? Seriously?
