[Summary] Linker Class General Overview

Linker Class Summary

The Linker is a support sub-class under the Wizard. It is a very unique class that link enemies together to spread damage and also link party members together to share damage.

Grinding party gameplay. Do your job well and you might even get free SP pots! XD

From the first glance it will seem pretty weak or hard to level but the Linker attributes also amplified damage taken by linked enemies. The more trained you are in these attributes; the more potent you are (to the point of being able to kill linked enemies with normal attacks). It’s also good to note that linked enemies gets 100% aoe damage + the shared damage; meaning they can also deal extremely huge damage if you later take the Elementalist sub-class.

Do take note that there are changes to the Linker attributes so the info from TOSWIKI no longer applies.

For those who are interested in starting the Linker class at Korean server here is a quick translation (might not be accurate).

  • 1st skill is unbind damage boost. 20% damage that’s all I can understand from it.
  • 3rd, 4th and 5th skill is 10% of your magic attack as extra lightning, poison and earth damage to linked targets when they are hit. If you level all 3 to lvl 5; you get 50% from each element; essentially 150% damage boost from 3 elements that can still be further amplified by enemy elemental weakness. There is another attribute that causes linked enemies to take another extra 20% damage after they are hang man-ed.

At later stages of the game; Linker also make dungeons much easier as enemies starts to hit very hard but with the Physical Link spell; you can split the damage between your party members; effectively making your party MUCH more durable.

Another thing that is not highlighted by most; is that the Linker is also capable of linking enemies magic traps (not panels), totems, obstacles and then bring them all together with Hangman Knot; which they can then proceed to kill with spells; effectively eliminating all threats on the field.

Nearly died on the boss fight to demonstrate how useful Joint Penalty + Hangman’s Knot is lol.

So in conclusion, Linkers are very awesome support. Don’t underestimate them in both offence and defensive capabilities as their links are very game changing.

P/S : Debuffs on enemies are not shared when they are Joint Penalized.

Tips for those just starting Linkers : Unbind is not really needed. Get 1 level in Joint Penalty and another 1 in Hangman’s Knot then focus everything on Joint Penalty. You will most like be solo-ing most the game so Physical Link is not that useful and the damage dealt by enemies is not going to be THAT high anyway (it will be when it’s much later but at that time; you will have already max out Joint Penalty and should already have spare skill points to put into Physical Link).

Finally some Linker info
Thanks a lot
This will come in handy in the beta

But is the link animation that cheap though? I thought it was more detailed like a real chain…

@Meelord as far as I know debuffs are not shared. I am on my tharmaturge now but I cant get other mobs to be minified/bloated. tharmaturge size debuff however is splash so you can hanged man them and then attempt to change their size.

This is INSANELY OP. Holy crap.

If u manege to get some info on that let me know.

I’m intrested in some theories:

  1. Joint Penalty+Petrify
  2. Joint Penalty+Samsara
  3. etc…

It will be fixed most likely. I dont think that is suppose to happen. I mean at the meantime stuffs like your friendly traps and even your own fireball can be linked with Joint Penalty. In PvP you can drop 2 fireballs on the floor and IF your link hits an enemy it will also link up your 2 fireballs. And once you use Hangmen’s Knot; the rest is history. IF your link linked up more than 1 enemy and they get pulled to the fireball…the damage is pretty obscene lol.

I will be updating the post. Debuffs are not shared. Just tested with Fireball on a group of linked enemy. out of 5 enemies linked; only 1 is burning hahaha. To be honest; if debuffs does get shared among enemies; it will be too OP in PvP. Just need to get one person frozen and all others will be frozen as well. Urgh…Terrifying to even think about it.

I hope they do fix it. Cause if they don’t I bet you all AoE DPS Wizards will go at LEAST 1 Circle Linker just to exploit that.
