Suggestions for Cleaning Up the Screen UI

Tree of Savior is stunningly beautiful game, however the unfortunately cluttered and immovable UI truly interferes with the screen essentially ruining the game’s best asset. While I am loving the game play I the interface needs a severe overhaul as it is just frustrating at points.

  1. There is no reason you need to see your party name, your name and your title at all times. In addition there is no reason to need to see EVERYONE’s party name, name and titles too. This ends up taking almost as much space as a character model for each character on the screen - hideous.
    So,
    a) Allow a function that simplifies your and other players names to just their Family Name.
*b) Allow a function that allows you to NOT see other people’s names entirely (ALT can be pressed to check) but allow vision of healthbars. I am under the impression this should work (from the UI options) but it does not.

  2. There is even less of a reason for sceenspace be used up to remind me that my Zombies are named Zombie, and the names of every pet on the screen, much less the fact that (if you are playing with a mouse) your cursor frustratingly reacts to pets that you can’t even interact with. This should be removed entirely and an option to hide pet names should be provided.

  3. While we’re here, allow players to disable the quest log and minimap (or in the case of the minimap, add 3 levels of opacity 100%, 50%, 0%) I can easily survive by opening and closing the quest / map tabs and I see little reason for it to be a compulsory experience.

In essence what I want to say is Tree of Savior’s aesthetic is one of its strongest selling points - the horribly considered UI choices and options are using up alot of valuable screen economy in a very easily solvable way. The state of the UI is telling of backward game design trapped in another era. Even Ragnarok Online was able to keep a cleaner screen space and that was a decade ago.

What this game really needs is the kTOS UI… look at how much better theirs look compared to the one ingame right now
