I realy like this game but it’s getting harder and harder to actually bring ppl to play or even try the game out
Here are some reasons
1st: Very restricted dungeonsystem
The best way to catch up with Players is to Level up in dungeonparties - yet most of the time you can’t even form a Party for your given dungeon as late night (2-4 am) noone wants to que for dungeons… you will end up waiting Ages or spamming all your microphones in hope to find some
Here are 2 ways to improve this System
- Allow Players to actually play the game while waiting for a Party. It is okay to go to the meetingstones for registering yourself for the partysearch, but don’t force the Players to stay there and wait… just let them move and quest while they are waiting for the que and then port them into the dungeon once all 5 are found.
- Add MORE dungeonentries… 2 (or 3 with token) a day are a JOKE… it would be somewhat okay if it was PER DUNGEON, but it is for ALL together… this will make new Players that hit the dungeoncap search for another game quickly as nowadays most want to Level by dungeons. Therefore: either make it like 5 entries a day (6 with token) or make it 2 PER DUNGEON so you can que 2x for lvl 50 and 2x for 90 or whatever to Level up.
- Make dungeons scale by Players so you can go in with 4 or less Players if all agree to go in - Mobs will have strength divided by Players + a small boost
Another Problem is the trading:
Usually a game should either have a nonrestricted trading or NO TRADING at all (like black desert) offering trading only for subscribers (yeah i know lategame it’s not a big deal to pay those 900k-1m for a token each month) gives the game the big PAY2WIN tagg others will refuse to let go. Result: Less Players
The game should rather allow a restrictive amount of trades like 10 a week for free while offering unrestricted trading for premium - that way it’s more fair as it is now.
Alternative: Add a merchant System where Players can sell their items at their own stall while they are online
Problem 3: Auctionhouse
First Problem is the 3-7 days unable to buy/sell items lock – i won’t argue against that… it’s okay against bots alright.
However the 2 days wait for your items makes the game even slower than it already is. While this can be indeed used against unfair Transactions - the game already Features a own balancing market where you can’t even sell items that overpriced.
Alternative would be: the longer the account exists and the more Reputation someone has the faster the Transaction will go through… that way new accounts that might be bots still have the 2 day flagging but Players that played fair and square without being recognised as bots will be able to trade faster eventually
4: the classic missskilled Problem
With those huge amounts of possibilities to customise your heroclass a lot of ppl will find themself choosing a totaly useless combination and will be forced to create a new character in order to be able to be competitive.
This will result in 100-500 hours of new grinding.
While a complete rechose of classes would probably be difficult to code I came up with a more userfriendly idea: after each reaching of joblvl 15 you may reset all of your classes (or if thats too much the last Chosen one) new while adding the next stage.
That way a let’s say Wizard 3 linker 3 that fought it would be usefull to pick that way only to realise he receives more and more problems will have a Chance to go a different patch after he reached the t7 Peak…
It’s just an idea that does not have to be realised - RO like games are all about planing ahead after all…
5: Lacking in pvp and real endgame
Some Kind of siegemode would motivate Players to come back every now and then when siegewars are announced.
A PK System on a given channel outside of dungeons would certainly entertain aswell…
Additional for dungeonqueing:
When being in a dungeon there always is the servername under the charactername however i always only see my own Server (since eu).
I suppose US can que with the other US Server aswell - it would be best to link ALL Servers together in the dungeonque System to make it easier to find a Group (unless this already is the case)
Thank you for your Patience in reading all this (unless you skipped all of it just to write tl;dr :P)
