[Suggestion] Rank Skill Potion

So, I dreamt about this concept. (Yes, I’ve been dreaming a lot about Tree of Savior lately)

I’ve been thinking a lot about the Monster Gem concept and I really think it’s not the best concept to promote time-consuming grinding and farming.

So, what I’m suggesting is what I called a Rank Skill Potion.

So here’s how it works:

RANK SKILL POTION

  • Gives 1 additional skill point
A Rank Skill Potion is a potion that gives you 1 additional skill point on a specific Rank class.
A Rank 1 Skill Potion will give an additional skill point to spend on Swordsman, Archer, Wizard and Cleric.
A Rank 5 Skill Potion will gave an additional skill point to spend on Corsair, Squire, Rogue, Fletcher, Chronomancer, Sorcerer, Monk and Pardoner.
If you are C2 or C3 of a class, you would need the potion of the original class Rank. (i.e. Cryomancer -> Rank 2 Skill Potion).

  • Can have a chance to drop from any monster of a level of that rank.
Instead of dropping from an specific monster, it can drop from any monster in a level range, like the drop of EXP cards.
    Rank 1: From 1 to 15.
    Rank 2: From 16 to 45.
    Rank 3: From 46 to 80.
    Rank 4: From 81 to 125.
    Rank 5: From 126 to 175.
    Rank 6: From 176 to 220.
    Rank 7: From 221 to 280.

  • Drop rate is 1:10,000
The same for gems. However, with this system implemented, Monster Gems would have their chance of drop increased to 1:5,000. Swell Body cannot double the potion drop (It will always drop 1, even if the monster was swelled).

  • Boss have increased chance to drop
Mission bosses have similar chance to drop (1:10,000), but Cubes from World Bosses and Dungeon Bosses have a 1:2,500 to drop a potion.

  • Can be used up to 3 times.
You can use 3 potions. If you try to use a fourth potion, the system will inform you that you reached the limit. This essencially increases skill points spent to 8, 13 ou 18 depending on your class choices.

  • Skill level limit is still based on circle.
If you are C1, you cannot go past Skill Level 5 when spending the skill point.

  • Untradeable
You cannot sell this potions, nor trade. But they can be passed through Team Storage.

WHY IT’S A GOOD ADDITION TO THE GAME

  • It’s not monster locked.
I like Monster Gem concept, but I hate the fact they are monster locked. Some monsters are just horrible to farm and make it not worth it. An additional level seems not worth it.

  • It can work together with Monster Gem system.
Both system can co-exist. Also, with more skill points, more skills would be picked and, maybe, more gems would be wanted by players.

  • Promotes more grinding
I hate grinding personally, but this system encourages players to grind even more. They’re not just killing endless ammounts of monster to get experience, silver, equips or materials, they’re also thinking about having a chance of gaining another skill point from this potion.

  • High level players can help low level players.
There’s little to no incentive for high level players to help low level players in the game right now. The Rank Skill Potion system can promote cooperation as high level players engane in grinding with low level players. However, it can also make

  • It’s late game material.
You’re level 280, but you can grind for these potions to gain an additional skill point.

  • It’s a great way to promote versatility.
Some classes have really a huge ammount of skills with very useful skills. This system allows the players to relax a little bit more and gain more usefulness from skills they leave at level 1, 2 or 3.

That’s basically it. It would probably need testing, but seems like another good thing to have that would improve the experience of the game.

Annnnnd there goes the whole build system structure, you can have all the skills, which in some cases, half not gonna be even used.

More grinding mean less spots for questing (pointing this out for you since yourself said you hate grinding), less spots for leveling, more grieving, more QQing, less fun, less profitable (since one can’t find a good spot to farm items).

And specially with the actual spawn rate, some maps are wastelands, you barely find a monster, and some “smart” botters decided to grind there to help even more, so questing takes 4-5x more time to be done.

I am sure someone else will point more stuff out, but so far i can think of the above.

  1. Do you have any plans to develop a class or rank reset potion?

A. Creating a character in TOS involves making choices about stats, skills, attributes, classes, and many other things. It is possible to revert a character’s entire state to what it was like the day before, for example, but rolling back their class or skills while maintaining the level and stats intact is not an easy task. We will, however, consider making it possible to give up class advancement quests to allow picking a different class.

You people need to let it go IMC already answered this topic already lol.Do I really need to copy paste this and save it so I can just lay it down on people on didn’t read the TOS Q&A :yum:

Eh, the topic is not about reseting though or have I misread?
I think the idea is not bad, it synchronizes with the monster gem or possibly even more valuable since you get +3. I can think of some skills that could get a nice boost from the +1 - +3.

I reread it again and now you got me thinking and I’m very confuse LMAO about what the OP means.
