To keep it short, the problem right now is that some of the archer class and mainly the corsair is suffering from the main hand + off hand dilemma.
Cannoneer Problem: Cannon is offhand and its skills scale off it. Many lower rank skills are crippled by this because in order to get stronger in Cannoneer, you have to invest in transcending your cannon weapon. Now, lower rank skills like Quarrel Shooter, Wugushi, Sapper, etc. scale off the crossbow weapon. This causes the player in a tight spot where they’ll not make use optimal use of lower rank skills.
Schwarzer Reiter: ^ Same as above.
Corsair: ^ Same as above since in order to make full potential of pistol shot by transcending it, they’ll have to neglect their main hand which affects their other skills and other lower rank skills as well.
TL;DR - Players essentially have to double the investment in enhancing and transcending both main hand and offhand by affected classes above. This is a huge problem in my opinion.
My solution: Introduce a feature for said classes where they can swap what is main hand and what is off-hand. This can be attribute or simply a new feature of said classes.
For example in the case of corsairs, Main hand: sword Offhand: pistol > Main hand: pistol Offhand: sword.
My other solution would be is so that if a player that is a cannoneer/SR/corsair wears cannon weapon or pistol weapon, the system recognizes that all skills should scale off cannon or pistol weapon.
