[Suggestion] Linear progression... PLEASE DONT!

Then you have not played many rpgs. For what i see @thiago_engsoft is talking about the freedom that only true rpgs give you. As you are going to Play a role that you choose. With unpredictable ending according to your deeds. Not just:
“hey stranger save me from these onions ! They are assaulting our farm, and all these guards are useless !” after that bullcrap super generic moment “you are our hero ! Legend said about a stranger capable of killing onions would save us ! OMG its you !”.

ive been playing rpgs since 5-7yrs old and im 22 now lol i have played alot of rpgs from Snes come up but at the end of the day there is still smthing u have to follow there is still a story even if the game allows u to be free ur still following wat the game has set for u even if it allows u to choose ur ending base on the decisions made during the game ur still following one of the many paths the game has set for u so at the end of the day ur still doing wat the game wants u to do

Their is no such thing as a ‘‘True’’ Rpg because that implies that you have fake ones, Rpg simply mean you either choose or are giving a role to play and either version are equally valid forms of the genre.

Not from Snes or nes or any console or pc! RPG with paper and dice xD I have played many rpgs like chrono, seiken densetsu 2/3 , all zeldas since nes, some mmo, 7th saga, xenonblade, secret of evermore and many others that I dont remember and you know what they have in common? they are SINGLE PLAYER, not an Massive Mutiplayer online Role Playing Game where you can give players the choice to be more than “THE HERO WHO KILLS ONIONS” xD I’m just saying that i dont want to play another single player rpg with the only difference is that there are players following the same path that I. There are plenty mmos like that already!!! I think they need something new! We already have the technology to develope a game different than WOW or any WOW generic xD And i’m a software developer who focus on games the only sad thing is that i dont have money to make something big yet! haha

even if they made a game with different paths there will still be a person that follow the same one u did but i understand wat ur saying. like i could choose to play a mmo by just crafting and making stuff to sell and by doing that i still lvl up etc while where another person could choose to follow quest while some other guy could choose to explore but all of us are still advancing in the game no matter wat we choose to do

Yeah! that’s my point xD

+1 to the thread starter!

The whole world should feel alive and give some freedom for movement…

Avoid empty areas like that ones that are important only at beginning of the adventure. Rag had an answer for this with interesting drops at most areas (including low levels) like weapons, cards or MVPs. I guess it is wise to follow some of this.

The card system in ragnarok roks! xD Make people travel all around the world to make their own builds!

Not just rag, nut runescape as well and both are great games.

I want a MMO made by you and the topic author.

Couldnt agree more. :grinning:

You’re extremely right! Thats why we tought that this game would be so perfect! A old fashioned grind game.

Yes, please ! Great idea. Just one starting city for each class, that would be enough. At least we won’t need to do the exact same quests next time we start a new character/class.
I think it need a starting class like novice and everyone starts in the same place like kapledia and when you will choose your class everyone goes to a different city!
I don’t agree on this, the current 4 starting classes are good “novice” starting points already. I don’t see the need for an additional starting class.

too much I, RO, and Skyrim in this thread…
don’t mine me btw, i’m just passing through kamen rider

Thanks, we are just trying to pull ToS on the right direction avoiding boring features.

What I don’t get is why you feel forced that you have to follow the quest. You can go where you want (only need to do two quick quests to open the path to crystal mine) and dungeons aren’t tied to quests. And if you just wanna fight mobs, you can.

they actually are. theres a lot of places you cant go if you’re not gonna do the quest… your lvl is prolly low coz you dont know that you cant progress unless you do the quest

I would also like different starting cities even tho I don’t think it’s necessary. what I would like is having the possibility to go wherever the f I want from lvl one. I don’t want my hand to be held.

I don’t think we need a novice class at all. there’s already a frack-ton of classes already and the starting 4 are alright imo. maybe in order to help new players they could allow skill/stat reset during the first or second rank (with a quest maybe, so you don’t feel too much disconnected from your character)

I feel like you regarding the main quest: it’s so much in your face. I feel tied to that damn story. it has that guided tour feel that we don’t really need. exploration should be up to the player. right now everybody has the same exact experience.

I disagree with the previous reply saying that you are free to do whatever you want between quest steps. you are recluded to the areas you already visited with some exeptions.
and anyway the quest look all the same and pointless so far.

MMORPGs are NOT like single player games.
