As the Topic suggests, there is no easy way in-game to find out your true latency to the servers as data is passed through them. Most modern mmo’s, such as WoW (Yes wow is not a great example, but I know it has this feature) and since this game is “International” players should have the ability to see their latency in-game without having to alt+tab load up cmd and type in a IP address… not only that the IP address changes everytime you changes maps, like round robin style for load balancing I presume, you can see this happening with windows performance viewer if you wish to check yourself.
A Similar feature exists currently for the fps meter, and it works fine, so with the fps meter in mind, why not add or adopt the same mechanism and add the latency feature to it, it doesn’t have to check every 1ms or 1sec,5secs, maybe every 15sec? and an average latency would be displayed to the player, maybe a simple /lagg /latency /slash command would do the trick also. I can see this being a great tool for players to check whether or not they are having high latency or if its a local issue with their ISP etc.
