Suggestion: Allow leveling through PvP

Would allow for a fun alternative leveling method.

I respectfully disagree with your suggestion for the current implementation of the 5v5 PvP arena. If different PvP arenas are created for different levels of players, then perhaps I would change my mind.

If you can gain EXP through PvP then a lot of under-leveled, under-geared players will go to PvP in order to level up. Even with the level scaling that occurs in PvP, an under-leveled and under-geared player is still at a significant disadvantage and will be a burden on a team. In 5v5 PvP that burden makes a huge difference.

If the PvP was WvW, GvG, FFA, or you could only join PvP against other players around your level, then it may work, but not with the current 5v5 PvP.

BINGO!

Although this can be solved by simply giving 2% to the winning team, and 1% to the losing. Low levels aren’t going to bother going in there for that reward, since it’s a waste of their time. Anyone in the arena whose original level is 200 or higher though, wouldn’t receive any EXP gain.

What’s stopping a group of friends from PvPing each other to grind?

Please dont try to revive the SWAP…

Perhaps through implementing a different system that can’t be abused it can work. You bring up some great points though.

Because prior to level 200, they could just make a regular party and get more EXP from grinding actual mobs. Going into 5v5 Arena and going through multiple rounds just so one of the teams can get 2%, is slower (And I don’t think you can choose your enemies in 5v5).

But once we have groups of 10 we can have coordinated XP grinders where Teams take turns giving each other victory.

With enough optimization damage wise (insta-kills whatnot), it can arguably be faster than actual finding monsters and grinding.
