They’re not good with general game design. They try to argue what fun and what isn’t, and isn’t fun a core part of the game?
Want any examples? The Hatred review they made. It was too brutal and people play games because they need to feel good–Wait a minute. Didn’t I just kill tons of “monsters” while I was playing this game? Oh let me guess, those people were trying appeal to the SocJus.
Either way, if you’re trying to argue what is fun and what isn’t-- And failing at doing that-- You probably don’t understand anything, so sadly I have to disagree.
Unless by “in a general sense” you mean “We don’t really understand anything in-depth but we pretend to”, which is exactly how I’d describe their views.
