Stop Complaining and Give Contructive Criticism

Short and sweet.

Threatening to uninstall is not going to get anything done. Threatening to chargeback isn’t going to change a thing. So many of you are actually getting angry, which is honestly hilarious.

If you find something wrong or if there is something you disagree with, do not threaten. There is literally nothing to gain out of threatening. Instead, you should advise. As players, we server a role just as important as the developers themselves. If there is something the developers have done wrong or can do better, it’s up to us to point it out and gain support to have them change it for the better.

Sometimes, things simply will not be changed. The devs surely have a path they want to take the game, and if our ideas go against it, chances are a change will not be made. This doesn’t mean they aren’t listening to us players. If anything, it gives them an idea of what kind of things we may like in the future and only helps them.

Things are always taken better when there is kindness and reason behind it. The harassment and hatred needs to stop. Thanks for reading. ^^

:beers:

isn’t that exactly what you are doing here, Complaining and giving out attention to those that mindlessly complain instead of using your time to like, quote and promote those that actually post constructive criticism :unamused:

Goodbye threads and rants I usually ignore or give them a “peace, later.”

It’s usually made by lowbie players who won’t change their perspective regardless of what you tell them.

I wouldn’t say it’s ‘lowbie players’. It’s the MMO hoppers you see on every MMO for the first 2 weeks to a month that it is released.

I will give them this - IMC’s launch was rough. I can understand the frustration.

But with every thread I enter, I think to myself “Why is OP doing this? Do they just want me to agree with their discontent and try to hold them back by baby talking to them?” I don’t think ToS is the greatest MMO of all time, but some of their discontent is so subjective I wonder what the purpose of the thread is other than opinion bait.

It’s also a potential datamine for the devs if they trawl the forums for key words and the like. I tend to think of these threads as just upvotes or tally-counts for problems players have with the game.

It’s a useful metric for the devs to use, but nobody actually “reads” every post on the forums. There’s just too much to go through (although it is admittedly easier to read more complete threads with a smaller userbase).

But arguing to respond and give excuses for the devs is probably less useful to them than to simply list out the problems you think there are. People like to give constructive feedback and show off their skill, but the team probably have similar ideas too (it’s actually the fun part of the job to think about these things).

A lot of these ideas tend to become dead ends as the dev team decides which ideas are easiest and most effective to implement in the code, which is why a large portion of Users think the devs don’t actually do anything with the forum posts.

Going through the forums, there are more players angrily saying what they want/demand than there are people suggesting things. If I were to be quoting such posts, it’d be purely for example. People over the age of thirteen should not need such a thing.
