Stomping kick question

Skill says AOE ratio is 6, but I only always hit 3 mobs, is it because of the AOE defense of the mobs?
Also, is it affected by the AOE ratio stats??

It’s because of the monsters AoE Def ratio: with 6 AoE Attack Ratio you can hit 6 Small Monsters or 3 Medium or 2 Large or 1 XL or all possible combinations inside that number.

Small = 1 AoE Def
Medium = 2 AoE Def
Large = 3 AoE Def
XL = 5 AoE Def

Some special monsters may have different ratios, but I don’t recall any right now. :slight_smile:

Thanks. Can I increase the ratio though? I mean through the character’s AOE ratio stat, or is it fixed??

I also have a question regarding Crossguard. Since you do not have block when using a 2H sword, if you wear equipment with block stat, does it add to the total block rate when using Crossguard?

Regarding Stomping Kick, his AoE attack ratio value is influenced by your AoE Ratio value, like any other abilities you have, usually that value is already taken into account in the skill tooltip when you check it on your skillbar. :slight_smile:

Regarding Crossguard I have never tried to be honest, but I’d say “why not”: the only real effect the skill has, it’s to give you the ability to block attacks with a two-handed sword, aside from that it boosts your Block further scaling off your STR and a fixed value per skill level, so I don’t see why other equipments/gems shouldn’t add to that.
Still, I wouldn’t put my money on it, I have never tried and it’s not easy to do so, since the only way you currently have to increase Block is Blue Gems on Shields (so not really viable in this scenario) or stacking CON, if I remember correctly.
Equipments with Block values aren’t really common outside of the shield category. :confused:

But now there is a card that increases block and, (maybe) after the item update, random stats from equipment may include block?

The skill seems bugged though. My lvl 9 crossguard increases almost 700 block, but when I level it up to lvl 10, it goes back to 500+ block. leveling it to 15 is even lower than lvl 9.

That’s a recurrent bug that seems to affect many abilities, it’s been reported multiple times on the forums and it was fixed at some point, in the past… now it’s back, unfortunately. :confused:

is it just a text bug or does it affect the actual stats?

On my character, I tested in the past the pangle armor and it has increased by exact 28 block (24 block + 4 STR) to the block that I already had with crossguard. The thing is, even though you can increase the block, I would not recommend invest too much on it. It’s and active block that sure helps a lot at some times (too me was a life saver when I had no gear), but is more meant to be used when you can’t avoid damage by moving (eg. when bosses knocks you back when you barely have time to get up).

Mine is at 15, with 170 STR I got 1150 block and I experience blocking around 60%~70% of bosses atks when I use it. For those atks that are a lot of hits in a row, when I don’t have time to dash out, blocking like this is a huge damage reduction.

At my tool tip, it says that the skill increases 920 block, I believe that the remaing 230 block, a part it’s fixed (like the addiotional block you just by wearing a shield), and the other part is related to character level (and possibly CON), but I never truly researched it. Also, I have tested using a shield alone that gives +1% of block and I ended up with 232 block, very close to the missing 230 block in crossguard block.

I do not know if the sword Gravity exists in the game ( https://tos.neet.tv/items/124102 ), because this sword, similar to shields, have a +% final block rate. Together with a Brown Rodelin Gem (+1 Crossguard level = 50 block), it would be possible to reach the 1500+ block. However I had never seen this sword in game. Maybe with 5 slots HG swords you will be able to achieve that if get the right stats (STR and Block rate) and build a dedicated blocking sword for weapon swap, but won’t be easy :confused: .

Thanks a lot. The only issue I have now is if I’m going to level i past level 9 since the tooltip is broken and I dont know if it affects the actual stats of the skil XD. My tooltip shows that a lvl 9 crossguard gives more block than the lvl 10-15 ones.

Did you try check your block on the stats window? It might be way bigger. Open the stats window and use crossguard, it show the block stats for a short period, see how much, then equip a basic shield and check it again. Then check if the block difference is around your STR + 50*(skill lv). Tooltip might be broken but the skill is working normally :wink: (at least for me is working as intented I guess :thinking:).
