What the… No offense but where is your country? Are you coming from a country full of millionaires and billionaires. I will be crying blood every pay time if I live there.
20 Euros by month for 1,5 MBps down and 150 Kbps up… I’m in Dijon, and the main reason why I don’t have the fiber yet is because my town didn’t installed it everywhere, they are prioritizing appartments, and I live in a individual house… I bet 75% of those peoples don’t even know they have fiber --’
Little story : The best fiber I know is my actual IAP (named Free (lel, not this free is you ask me))… And the cost is… 20 Euros a month --’ Others providers sux
Paying $40 USD for 15mb connection here that rarely works at that speed.
3rd world problems
I can’t believe how much you guys pay for sub-par internet. I’ve heard it was a problem but I never expected it to be this much…
I’m from the UK, I use Virgin Media fibre optics and I pay £31.25 ($50 ish) for 60MBps Down, 6MBps Up (Currently boosted to 100MBps for no extra cost because of a promotion). Been like that for nearly 2 years. I wonder what you can really do to get better internet in your countries though, protest? Complain? Government intervention?
For me it was a government intervention
And ofcourse, the power of the social media aswell
2 years ago there’s no fiber here, i mean at every single town/city, but now they’re everywhere
And yes, a protest from a lot of people will help, and it will make the change
But when everyone have the speed, it doesnt matter anymore… Because you’ll find that ping is more important than speed
So im guessing from 2015 onwards… “Ping matters”
The fact some people began client download only at last minute is impressing me way too much than the debate about who got keys or not.
Wish you good luck anyway
Some like OP had to re-download for reasons like Steam just kind of being a d!ck and do that to them. Some maybe just got their keys (from giveaways or friends, etc). So you don’t need to be that impressed.
Oh, it seems the good luck charm got some effect, gratz to whom got a last-minute key
Nothing really, I know people from outside (mainly europe) don’t… get it I’d say, and not in a bad way, it’s just because it makes no sense or it’s just not part of their “world”. But around these places it’s just like that and most of the time there’s nothing anyone can do.
Governments/the state doesn’t give a f*** for obvious reasons (don’t wanna go deeper into the off-topic) and in case they did, this would be like the last of their priorities. Companies also don’t care since there’s no punishment for having completely outdated services or ones that barely work.
Plus the bills get more and more expensive every single month by a big margin.
I’ll end the off topicism (?) now, sorry.
40$/100mbps …
