Anyone else having an issue with this happening whenever you hit SHIFT by itself while in-game rather than SHIFT + TAB?
Anyone know if there’s a fix for it or if there’s a certain setting causing this in STEAM?
yes, happens to me all the time in he exact same way as the chat at times closes itself with no reason making me cast stuff and other times stays open
Disable it. Steam > ToS> Properties > General Tab> Uncheck Enable Steam Overlay.

Change the short key on Steam, it is a known bug on Steam overlay i got that on other games too, it stopped after changing the keys.
It’s a bug involving alt-tabbing. When you alt-tab from and back, the overlay is still thinking that you’re pressing tab, so when you press shift, it registers the shift-tab combo, bringing up the overlay
I just set mine to tilde, pretty much the same, and its never used for anything in most games
