okay, evertime i type and press Shift, the Steam overlay shows up(note that it will only show when you press Shift+Tab) which is kinda annoying and you need to close it everytime you press shift. I don’t know if its only happening to me, but yea.

Happens to me as well. It is a very annoying bug.
When you alt-tab, the game seems to keep in memory the “tab” key. So, when you press “shift”, the shortcut “shift+tab” activate itself and the steam overlay shows up.
I saw it in some games and, yeap, it’s annoying. But it’s not “everytime”, unless you alt-tab every minute (like me)
What’s even more annoying is how both ALT+TAB and SHIFT+TAB switch your chat channel.

When the Steam Overlay show up, click on Settings and change the binding (SHIFT+$ for me, I can’t possibly do that on without wanting it, problem solved !).
I can confirm getting the same problem.
When pressing Shift and sometimes Alt.
just like @AkaiKiseki said, when Steam Overlay shows up, click on settings then change the hotkey for it(the default is Shift+Tab) change it to whatever key you are not using.
