but I have no idea where I should invest my stat points into. I’m a noob and this class building is a bit overwhelming.
archer stat allocation idea for dmg is
-enough CON to survive (not being OHKO, connection and lagging need to considered too)
-high DEX, but as low as possible to reach crit rate goal.
-left over to STR
final gears and gems have much impact on your stat build too
this thread give nice reference, but if you don’t have much time follow Nicola’s stat build How much crit rate is considered enough at Lv 280?
General stat investment for all Archer builds without Rogue: Go for hybrid.
- Minimum of 35 Con is needed
- 100% crit with Dex and gears or something near that number with Swift Step is highly recommended.
- All stats left after 100% crit go into Str and Con. Depending on your preference

Actual Critical Rate = (Critical Rate - Critical Resist) * (42 / Character Level)
Enough DEX to get around 70-80% crit chance
I would say min 102 STR
Generally High Dex and Low Str enough cons to survive 1 shot.

Why did almost everyone recommend high dex stat builds?
Running Shot with low STR is a recipe for disaster. You need all physical attack stats that you can get, in order to maximize Running Shot’s 300%-460% damage multiplier.
If you want to try a high DEX build, don’t take QS3!
You don’t want to be that Lv200+ QS3 that barely can reach 1-2k damage with Running Shot.
You will rarely even use running at level 290 onwards. Source QS3 Muskeeter myself. It typically to fill in that 5-10 seconds before your CF/snipe + BS combo is up again
i have 400 str + 232 dex 60 con toal (invested 170 str , 35 con , 121 dex)
i can tell you frankly with mobs going 300k running shot per hit will take you ages to melt down a single target then sniping or Circling + CF / Vubble + double target CF + BS. (I have DCG + manamana + Carifsun 13/14k per hit 2 autos/3 at max per second 5 ms ping)
Mobs also hurt a truck ton you have to get them down asap.
Missing crit in higher levels is as good as equal missing 30-40k damage just from crit just fyi.
Woah you play high str and still use cafrisun at lvl 290+ … you really have a great player skill.
Its not fun but you will typically die in 2 shot or mob masses.
I do have a Virtov plate and leather set as back up. Normally will switch around if i need more hp / evasion… so… :V
I drop Cafrisun at 220 thanks to Blue spion archer.

Red spion archers are worse Lol. I skipped blue spion archers and came back only at 240
Theres manahas set now to farm but it will take ages to get one full set(esp the one that need oracle to reroll)
But looking at the moment i do not really use RS to auto that much… so i am dropping the whole set all together evenw ith RS gem i doubt it can really win a burst down musketeer in terms of dps per 10 minutes rotation.
Edit part: To add in Butt stroke only Add 100% to all ur musket damage so that saying Running shot on musket is improve by it as well.
CF + BS = 240k (lv 10 CF + 70 attr) Snipe = 200k on 2 target head shot about 65k 2 hits in that short time … so yea.
In your case, then Ranger3 would be more suitable for your playstyle. Going QS3 and not using Running Shot would be wasting 3 ranks.
I would prefer OP to not take QS3 if he/she wants to try high dex - low str builds. It sets up for a massive disappointment with Running Shot.
As for myself, I have a Lv302 SR3. I use Marching Fire and Retreat Shot to devastate mobs. I still find Running Shot useful when my aoe skills are on cd.
I think crit comes easily with Sissel Bracelet + Manamana + green gems. While major physical attack increase is mainly from getting a better weapon, luck-based upgrading, and daily-based transcending.

you need at least 767 crit to hit about 85% crit rate.
Musket Have way lower cd than SR 3. Butt stroke adds 100% damage to ALL MUSKET skills. That includes you using RS + Musket (which nulify the damage of DCG, the only benefits you are getting out is a off hand damage + 2 lines Cafrisun/Manahas which is kinda shiet (1050 damage with new BIS dagger + additional crit rate))
Which is why i am regretting taking QS3 Now without circling.
Your damage output on QS3 With DCG is unable to win a Musket R2 Rotation and it goes on. Even with MCG you will need at least 100 % trascend with rs gem to Keep a full up time on it and this only then will keep up and still loses to the output on R8, 9 10 future class… The damage burst is still losing to CAP muskeeter damage rotation burst using QS3 as filler.
Ranger works better imo if you are going muskeeter path now that i have seen it.
Edit part here: the issue with ranger is weapon swap. There is still a little lag on the weapon swap mechanics and also only steady aim is useful for muskeeter.
That saying it’s ultra highly gear dependent. I am just pointing out a fact.
High str will not work as well now with transcend in place. Str are just max min stat + block pen for archers. DEX is a free 1.5 x damage mod.
Addin part 2:
As for gear crit rate + green gems there is a limit to stack + monstance and ella + quicken and shift steps. If you will need to hit near 767 by yourself.
If not you can factor render total damage lost in the whole build of 1.5x + critical attack. Since you will be missing out alot of crit damage over time.
There was alot of huge debates but primary crit damage is free scaling . QS 3 needs both and depending on where you are going for R7+R8 it makes alot of diferent.
I play QS3>Fal>Musket but I think it’s not bad even this build has lower damage than Ranger and rarely use auto attack. But it still fun.
Deploy Pavise/Scatter Caltrops/Stone Shot is a good point of QS not only running shot.
Hovering+running shot also deadly combo for mid/small mob for me.
Eh actually. QS+muskeet is the highest single target dmg now for archer. You can out do fletchers.
Ranger just offers you more aoe on down time when circling is down + steady aim burst.
Overall QS3> muskeeter is still the highest single target dmg.
^ this is on the point of equipment and drawing best single target fletchers.
QS/Ranger > SR3 = best aoe
Eh I thought weird build like Wugushi+musket2, fletcher2+musket2 is the highest single target for archer right now lol.
I think ranger3>rouge>archer2>Musket2 also good one.
Wugu can’t crit.
They have a cap as well and elemental resist is an issue.
I had a peer who had a max out wugu unable to win me over time on a short 3m damage boss battle. If it last beyond 300m. that is a different issue (demon lords). This will definitely means if the boss is weak to magic/poison or any source.
He will have a chance to win. I did not have any chance to play with demon lords atm… but either way i can say as of now Fencers, Dragoon dopple + muskeeter = free cube. Since your damage spike contribution will be the highest among all during short period of time.
Fletcher2 loses to fletcher 3 out right cause magic arrow issue… (u need max out 25 hits)
Fletcher 2 + musketer 2 is situational if the boss moves your magic arrow damage = kiss good bye. Mean while QS/ranger can still damage moving targets @_@…
