But it’s all useless because people don’t die in TOS. They just lose their consciousness and fall flat on the ground.
If they’d die, there would be no way back without the interference of Goddess Laima, as she’s the only one who can alter the fate of a human. With her still captive, Giltine would lead you to certain death, meaning your character was a goner for good.
Only a handful of MMOS really include a death system where your character gets deleted if you die. All others are just using the word “death” to describe an incapacitated status.
The only way to get away with the definition “death” would be if TOS was in fact settled in the Lovecraft universe (We have Shoggoths so it might be a possibility), because death is not ultimate there [as “That is not dead which can eternal lie and with strange Aeons even Death may die”] and thus different from our defintion of the terminal status of all lifeforms.
