Standardized pvp gear

does that mean i won’t gain an edge over other people if i spend more time into my character ? other than the fact that i will know how to use my skills better.

You will gain more advantage in the term of skill attributes (which are often more powerful than the skills themselves), status points (finding statues, finishing quests), cards (for those who are in need), & having better consumables/supplies. Forbidding gears is just giving an earlier upper limit, not giving a strict confine for players to stop progressing with their character.

Moreover, gears are not standardized in 1v1 PvP situation. Might as well not in the future GvG or something.

Anyway, there is another discussion in regard to this in the other thread, you’d better look around the forum first before bringing a new thread with a repeated discussion.

Cheers.

Jochris covered the majority. He left out all skills, skill levels, and classes though.

A level 150 Wizard (Bumped from level 15) would be no where as powerful as a 150 Elementalist.

To give perspective for why they did this. With the current system sometimes people level 100 would be pitted against people level 200. Check the stat cacluator. Even with the same exact stats allocated the level 200 would have almost twice the hp and almost twice the base damage. You count gear in that and it gets even more lopsided because the gear has the same curve to it almost. When you double the level of gear you pretty much double the stats on them.

IMC has also said something about large scale pvp in previous discussions, and that hasn’t entered the beta yet. So that mode may not have scaling it might just be a arena thing.
