Squire with Cataphract

So I was planning on a really weird build eventually, essentially since it seems like the riding class isn’t going to have an upgrade until dragoon, and TBH Squire has raid/group/in general really really nice utility, would it make sense to make a cataphract squire? I really like Cata, and if dragoon is rank 8 there’s essentially no reason to take anything in particular at rank 7 once you’re C3 cata, so I was thinking of sacrificing rush possibly depending on wether I want to delay getting dragoon, and going for some squire levels.

Does this seem plausible? I just like the aethetic of a rider class and impale is freaking hilarious, not only that but I almost feel like being able to always buff my own gear with squireness is not a terrible trade off for the abilities I’d miss, I’m fine with autoing a lot, and I just feel like Arrest on bosses will be meta at some point.

So I’m wondering what people think? is essentially everything viable for squire so long as you’re willing to give up some damage? Because I love the squire support, but I also love the riding.

My current plan is something like Swordsman>Swordsman>Hoplite>Cata>Cata>Squire>Squire>(Possibly dragoon here)

Sounds nice, you can try swordsmang c3 too. or add more def/ resist to your build with peltasta.

if your going hoplite i assume your taking 1 hand spear. why not take peltast for manual block and provoke skill?

I’m not really going 1 handed spear, the abilities can be used with 2 handed, including the stances. No real reason to go specifically 1 hand. Also I think my damage would suffer too much if I tried to go peltasta, it’ll be suffering enough as is XD

i was thinking of
Swordman>Petalsta>Hoplite>Cataphract>Squire>Squire>Squire.
as of survival and useful DPS/Tank terms at the 200 + grinding
what do you think ? figured dps have be decent and tank would be… not sure there.

frankly my original intend was Swordman>Petalsta>Hoplite>Petalsta, Squire, Squire, Squire though.

ideally “Survival + good dps and tank” was the goal.

try sw>pelt>hop>hop>squire3

pelt2 or cata wont add dps nor survivability to your char.
Pelt2 will cut you crit rate to half and add a few more block;
Cata will give you knock back skills and some more stats if you have enough money to upgrade you pet. But none of those will add dps to your build. Hoplite c2 will give you more crit rate and a buff to your pierce damage.
