Spot You Can Jump Up to the Sky

Bug Description :
You can jump forever high to the sky

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Go to Gele Plateau bottom of the map, go to the door of the house
  2. Somewhere near that spot you can jump forever. But the bug occurred only occasionally. This appeared to me 2 times.

The also happened to me when I saw a card battle table and clicked on it, then decline the battle. My character was initially stuck in a plant and I jump and could keep jumping into blackness.

This happened to me fighting a boss in the mines, got over him doing the stupid bunny jump with my wiz, and then I coultdn’t get down, just keep jumping qq

I wonder what damage the barbarian jump attack would do if used from such a height. :scream:

Same here, in King’s Plateau against Werewolf. Quest was Treasure Map of the Stonemason Family. Jumped near a tree and started levitating over boss. He couldn’t hit me!

Happened to me after the boss threw me DOWN THE CLIFF. Like, under the ground.

Well I forgot to remember my, at some boss fight the boss throwed me in the air and i also go to go into the sky by jumping. The fun part is even thought I was visually in the air and boss couldnt attack me, the game let me freely attack the boss while in the air.

this seems to happen eery tme a boss kncos you down and walks towards you during your recovering animation. sometimes you will get teleported to random place on the map floating

But to stay on topic,it happened to a friend of mine too when we were fightinh the plant/tree boss. He managed somehow to come back in the fight.

Alright, since the forums won’t let me create a new post, I’ll add mine here.

It’s not the “spot” that causes this to occur, but the circumstances behind it. Basically, the game works on a pseudo 3-D setting. 2-D is the standard movement access we have in game. The 3rd D comes into jumping around which temporarily heightens the character’s z-axis so to speak. You see this in use a lot on certain skills that high a large aoe but small z, so that you can jump over them.

The bug enters here: Normally, when you jump, you will quickly reenter the correct Z-axis for your location (ground). But there are instances where your character breaks the typical ground z-axis and sets a new ground. This is what is occurring in several of your statements. For the house, you somehow clipped into the house a bit, and that reset your axis. For bosses, if you move into the same X-Y location at the same time they do, it causes you to share the same spot, so the only fix is to shunt either you or their Z-axis to a new location. I’m not entirely sure how it works for the card battle, but it’s probably a loading issue.

Now the problem here is that your character has entered a very strange Z-axis that is not the norm. When you jump and do not move your XY axis point first, the game registers you at an unknown Z-axis and doesn’t know where to place you, so when you go to land, it sets your Z-axis at the highest point (or close to it) that you achieved.

I’ve noted the glitch a few times and was coming to the forums to comment on it. The best places to see this are during boss fights especially melee bosses (they are large enough to break the Z-axis) and during cryomancers Ice Wall. The reason mobs don’t get stuck with Ice wall is that they cannot jump and move in the X-Y axis before shifting Z. This fixes their location, but yes, I suspect that if the mobs jumped, it would cause them to get stuck in the sky as well. So, go pvp some cryomancers and see if you can get this to occur as I suspect it will.

I have experienced it by accident a few times when fighting big boss fights. As i was trying to jump and avoid his AOE or attack, sometimes he will rush in to me where i will accidental get on top of the boss head. What this does is that i can attack the boss on his head and he can’t damage me. Only some boss have this issue. The one i last remember was fighting boss MOA a big bird boss fight.

While fighting a Honeypin in the lvl 102 forest (forgot the name lol).

yeah happened to me too, just after the boss gave me a few hits, then i get trapped in the same square, while fighting Molich in Gateway to the Great King

I actually got knocked up into the sky while fighting the boss of the level 175 instance.

Same thing happened to me while fighting Molich in Gateway of the Great King. Seems as this bug is only specfic to Molich and Honeypin.
