Spellcaster effectiveness against Velcoffer

There a video on a Pyro-Chrono variant on Velcoffer. Wonder if anyone here tried playing this variant of chrono and would care to shed some light on this build

Not sure how a Cryo variant would fare

We ran this variant of chrono.

It’s maxed enchant fire for all in AA DPS + some pyro aoe, but let’s be honest aoe is not as important in velc. He just took it for maxed enchant fire.

Clear time is about 24-25 mins. 2nd run was longer because he died once and lost blessing.

AA enchanter is pretty strong, IMO, this isn’t even a full AA team with chaplain or falc (for sniping AA) yet.

Final composition for our team would be (others aren’t ready yet so we took in randoms):
Pyro3-Chrono3-Ench2
Pyro1-Link2-Thau3-Ench2
Wiz3-Link3-RC-Ench2
Priest3-Chap-Kabba3
Krivis3-Monk3/paladin3-Zealot2

It’s focused on AA enchanters + Zealot refilling SP with lethargy strike debuff from one of the enchanters.

Isnt enchant fire of pyro now does not apply to party mates?

It is shared via Spiritual Chain

Oh that cool thanks

very interesting, do you know how the zealot/monk does to optimize his dmg output? gear/stats/cards/pt composition wise or any other recommendations?

Just one little thing I’d like to add to the thread: While many might have better options, might be good to point that Lethargy 15 reduces 15% of Velcoffer Phys/Mag attack.

This is around:
8595 - 14326 -> -1289, -2149 = ~7305 - ~12177 P ATK
8484 - 14141 -> -1272, -2121 = ~7211 - ~12019 M ATK

The difference is really noticeable in practice, especially if your defense values starts to get past Velcoffer attack.

To fully optimize a monk zealot you will want to have:

  1. enchanters (as related to this thread) for empower.
  2. Oracle Slave to use arcane on a squire camp + squire food
  3. a decent amount of your own SPR so that you don’t have to double sp pot every lifeline/empower
  4. a decent amount of dex, either from gear or lifeline + monstrance
  5. good ping/fps
  6. Archer+Falc Aiming for swift step crit rate and sniping DPs.
  7. Lethargy Strike Debuff (requires wiz3)

Use Beady eyed as often to dodge attacks.
A locked down velcoffer in pavise means a chance for you to go wild.
Fanatic Illusion > Fanaticism > GBS > Melstis > Blind Faith > Zalciai (opt) > key monk skills like one inch punch and hand knife > Finger Flick > DP spam/Zaibas to use BF charges.

When GBS goes off, SZ, when SZ is gone, GBS is back up, but no more melstis extend for it.

these enchanter aa build, is full dex? half dex and half int?

Talk with your team.
one goes full spr, one goes full dex, one goes full int.

Full con can be kabba or someone else.

Zealot (or other dps for that matter) can have a mixed build to be safe, or full str.

Watching Velcofer videos i realized Kino is viable, have a lot of multhit skills able to destroy stuff, and control to max dps without any kind of danger for the team

@Lostac im looking for a build for random gameplay, not fix party and only velfcofer

you probably want full dex then, or at least full dex until your dex cap for your ping.

W3Lnk3RCEnc2 seems like the best for me since I can get away with being a bit underfarmed although PyroChrono is also interesting. Ty for help!

Onmyoji really that bad in Velcoffer?

Problem with Onmyoji is that it’s a class made for big AoE content, so you’re great for missions, defense, CM, raids, ET… but not really for Velcoffer which requires killing a big boss in a limited amount of time. Of course, if your Onmyoji comes with Thauma3/Sorc and high SPR/MATK, you can contribute to the team with the buffs and afterwards deal a decent amount of damage.
