So I’ve been reading some guides and I really want to be a 1H Spear and shield late game. Does Swordsman->swordsmanC2->Hoplite-HopliteC2->HopliteC3->Doppelsoldner sound good? Sort of DPS tanky type that doesn’t need much dex for crit because of Finestra.

I have been doing lots of research on the Hoplite class and it looks like Hoplite will shine as a boss slayer because the spear does bonus damage to all boss type monsters. At rank 6 we grab Cataphract for the ability to use a two handed spear to greatly increase base damage. Only downside is you lose your shield. If you don’t want to give your shield up you can go with whatever rank 6 class you want instead. You want to get hopliteC3 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE because you gain more crit chance with each tier by leveling up Finestra. You also want to get one point into spear lung which applies a vulnerability to pierce type attacks. For stats you go FULL STR! Only get some CON when you feel you need a little extra HP. You won’t need any DEX because you are getting ALL your crit from Finestra which in the higher levels you will be able to have up 100% of the time. buy MP potions when needed.
If you want to level easier in the early game and have some more skills to use go with swordman > highlander >hoplite >hopliteC2 >hopliteC3 > Cataphract / ???(You can decide what you want here)
The other option is to go Peltasta instead of highlander. Peltasta gives you swash buckling which is an AoE taunt that makes all the enemies around you walk towards you, this is useful in grouping. Swordman > Peltasta > hoplite > hopliteC2 > hopliteC3 > Cataphract / ??? (You can decide what you want here)
