Sorcerer Thread

Hello TOS Community !
I went Sorcerer yesterday with lvl 128. My Path was Wiz>Pyro>Pyro>Linker>Sorc so far!
I want to review the Skills, I will start with Summoning
Summoning: It’s a good skill but it has such a huge downsite that it’s not really worth. Pros : I got Templeshooter card and he did like 2k damage per autohit was pretty good and he was ranged . Cons : You will loose ALL of youre Natural SP recovery that means if you got like 100 SP recovery youre down to 0. You get a degen of 20 SP per second. The mob seems lack an accuracity it sometimes shoots in the wrong direction for no reason.
How to fix this skill : Change the skill so you keep you SP recovery but you got bigger degen or only consume SP if the mob is attacking. Another downsite is that the mob allways need really close to you to attack. If you move like 5 footsteps way mob will cancel his attack and follow you, range should be higher.
Summon Servant : Good skill gives you 5 buffs if you max it out
Summon Salamion : Decent skill summon a flame thing that deal like 700-1000 with autoattack but it’s kinda slow.
Summon Familar : This skill is the worst skill i ever seen ! I resetet my skills to max it out and the bats are just useless they deal no dmg and don’t respond good
Morph and Riding are pretty dump spells. With riding you get some controll of youre monster but you cant use youre own skills than. Morph is just bad it allmost do nothing.

My opinion to Sorcerer is that it has to be potential to be a good Class but it need some fixes mostly the Summoning Skill it’s the best skill but has to many downsites because you can train @ the Summoner Trainer that you increase you SP regenration but its really useless if all you SP regen gets removes after you Summon youre thing anyway.

Morph use to switch your summon to be a secondary card that you put in your grimoire.
Useful if you need to switch it in some situation or your summon about to die.

Sorcerers that plan to use their Demons seriously are recommended to have a large amount of SPR to quickly recover SP when Demon is unsummoned + to have your SP laster longer and keep your summon out longer. But the AI made me give up Sorcerer, its just so derpy, lol.

yeah youre totally right! The AI is just dump as f**k xD.
Best example was like I pulled a bunch of enemys and the Demon just shoot 3 times in the wrong direction…
It definitely need some rework

I was just wondering, is the demon’s attack considered melee or magic type? Or does it depend on what card is used? So in the damage calculation, will its damage be decreased by the opponent’s physical def or m-def? same question for the salamion :smile:

Depends on the boss card you use, yeah. Also pretty sure Salami does fire damage.

I can agree with most of this. I’m at lv 130+ Sorcerer and the MAYOR problem is SP.
Even if you reset and go full SPR your summon dmg and yourself it’s pretty low =Low INT.
Summon dmg/INT, Summon def/SPR.

If you try to balance INT/SPR it doesn’t work too well on maps of your own level…takes a lot of time to kill a small group, in the end High SPR doesn’t compensate dmg low INT/Sp drain. Previous class skills are weak with low/moderate INT even with high lv atributtes, reference: I’m a Pyro C3 with lv 50+ Attributes on every skill. So its pretty hard to work with Sorcerer+grinding, with my current Stats. I prefer to just use only my Pyro skills for grinding.
Also spent over 500k worth in Sp potions testing my sorcerer using my summon for 2-3 mintues/max before my Sp drops to 0.
Even if you have high SPR turn off/on your summon for sp regen as someone suggested+adding a bonefire to the equation for every 20 mobs/like 1.3% exp all that in 6-7 minutes…you spend a lot of time and money compared to other classe’s but, IF you really want to have fun with your sorcerer skills that’s the only way, SP potions a lot, a lot of bonfires, a lot of money, and a lot of patience if you go for a High SPR base build. Even with High level Sp regen attribute from sorcerer class you will suffer gg.

Adding other options-suggestions:
a) Reducing your Max Sp for 30% or something like that while the summon is out instead of Sp drain.
b) Current State+ Allow Sp regen.
c) Current State+ Adjustments/Less Sp drain.

About the summon AI, yes the range it’s too short/canceling his own attacks. As a caster you shouldn’t be close with all the mobs around you. This needs to be fixed.

Riding: This is good only in a party with a tank, you don’t get a Hp buff or def/mdef buff or something, it’s your own stats. So when you try to do an AoE while grinding you’ll probably die on maps lv 130+ because the animation for summon skills are too damn long and if you move just one step they cancel. So either buffing Hp pool while on top of the summon or def/mdef because as a wizard you are most likley gonna die or almost die trying to use one of this alone.

Every comparable skill (bokor zombie, necro shoggoth, necro skellies) has no upkeep at all buth instead uses some kind of reagent, in their case dead bodies. Thus I would suggest that summon devil should also have no upkeep and instead use a reagent like a new item (ritual chalk maybe?) to summon it intially and at most reduce max SP as Dante described. If it is kept in its current state it will just be a worse necromancer as shoggoth has the added decay debuff.

so i dont know what to doo … goin for pyro 3 ? linker 2 ? warlock ? featherfoot ?

pyro 3 and featherfoot are manahungry class and i dont know if warlock have sinergy with sorc2 … help me guys with ur magnificent wisdom ! ;3
