Sorc - Linker or Psycho?

Interested in building a Sorcerer later down the line and was curious on everyone’s thoughts over what classes would be best to build into it.

At the moment, I’m planning Wiz>Pyro>Link x2> Sorc x2 but I’m torn on if a Psychokino would be more beneficial as opposed to a linker. Any thoughts from those more experienced with the class?

If you ever get earthquake, you’re going to hate linker because it breaks the links apparently.

I don’t know if it’s intentional or not though, but it’s really annoying since Joint Penalty’s attribute doesn’t add extra damage for fire or ice skills, Earthquake is the only one we have.

Yea, its sad… I also noticed that and was wondering whats the reason? But hey its beta, lets hope they change this… I like earthquake because it gives you some seconds to run and use potions and be safe but its not very good afterall.

That’s what sleep is for. They stop the same amount of enemies but sleep lasts for a long time :smiling_imp: Earthquake is just a disruptor by moving the enemy… which sounds amazing for pvp when someone is in safety zone.

edit: I’ll probably test a lot of the wiz skills in the next beta if they up the exp. If they don’t, then It’ll be a long time before I test any of this :frowning:

Linker x2 feels very unneeded, you rarely fight as many targets as its possible to link and you’re giving up a lot of damage from elementalist as it can take advantage of joint penalty: lightning. Spiritual chain feels buggy and doesn’t seem to work on most buffs.

Psychokino is nice but since the cryo changes it’s also been indirectly nerfed (no more super high damage psychic pressure bullets). Linker feels much stronger utility wise.

Personally,
If Cryo -> psycho (swap boss into ice wall, pressure, still works somewhat)
If Pyro -> linker

Can you use swap in multiple targets or just one unit at a time? Also, Fireball + Psychic Pressure does an insane amount of damage for both a group of mobs and a boss.

Is it worth it to go Psychokino for that combo or do you think it’s fine to just go full Fire Ball since it increases amount of hits per level? o.o Literally level 15 is 15x better than level 1.

More ranks in Pyro is better than psycho. Psycho is pretty underwhelming in general.

I agree, pure pyro is better than psycho. Just suggesting Psycho if you like it that’s all.

That was sort of my concern having heard that Cryo/Psycho was netted. Saw some awesome damage it was doing in Steparu’s videos from previous betas but not so much now.

The Ice wall + PP does in fact still work because I’ve been using it to shred bosses for my quest. I hit rank 1 a few times because I was killing quest bosses solo 10 levels higher.

The main problem is grinding, you will definitely spend lots and lots of pots as well as wait on cooldowns if you go Cry+Psy unless you get into a group.

Last hour of CBT I killed 8-12 blues all level 130-149 dealing 1.5k dmg per tick with Psychic Pressure. I also killed groups of lvl 140s getting 400-600 exp per mob for a total of 13-25k per group. I went from 80-82 in that hour, so its not that useless to me. I had a peltasta provoking for me btw giving me lots of mobs for the duration of my PP.

Lvl 10 PP (Saved up points)
2 level 6 gems on Chest, Staff, Gloves for +Sp, Damage, and +Sp Regen respectively.

Stat Allocation 1Int:1Spr

And yes 60 levels higher than I am, I still got good exp.

So that is my opinion on Psy, I am planning to make a linker eventually to try that route, but if you aren’t a hardcore player, do NOT go Cry+Psy. There will be a lot of times where you just want to create a new char so stay away! Unless you somehow have the resolve to stick with it for the >50 levels.

Does Psychic pressure have an AoE mob limit or does it hit everything inside of the range of the skill? That really decides the skill for me considering Pyros only get 1 skill (on circle 2 since I dunno about hell breath being a full AoE everything inside it) that hits everything in it’s AoE range.

Pressure hits up to 3 enemies in melee range.

@PiriPiri I made a Pyro > Psycho and a Cryo > Psycho.
My point of view is that Ice Wall + PP is better than Fireball + PP.

Ice combo shoots things to the front, so it’s easier to make full hits on bosses and can be used to farm as well.

Fire combo is indeed stronger, but much harder to pull off the best scenario (put Fireball, then only when you finished the animation the boss should go above it, so they take Fireball hit + PP hit + all 9 shots from the combo).
Fire combo can’t be used to farm, since mobs will go above Fireball before your animation is finished and it will disappear. @_@

Really? I’ve managed to hit way more than that…about 8 or so. Though that’s in the KR server.

Pressure alone? Cause I tested it on Chapel Underground with high mob density and there is no way i was hitting more than 4 monsters with “naked” Pressure. :confused:

I was also leveling today on the Extended Beta Nexon is running.

Actually, now it seems I am hitting more mobs. Maybe leveling the skill gives more possible targets at the same time?

SWAP SUCKS, WTF were they thinking when they lock the aiming to the same ground you can walk on…

WTF is the point of you having to aim it if it cant go over gaps or obstacles… :@
