Soooo... Level 170 and up

Hey there! I’m a noob who got into ToS a few days ago. And despite its many flaws, problems, server and performance issues, I’ve really enjoyed playing Tree of Savior a lot! But now I’ve reached a point where I think I could really use a few pointers from the more experienced players.

I think my problems began somewhere around the 2nd floor of the demon prison. It starts getting a little harder to level up by then and the insanely high spawn rate in that particular area makes the whole place rather fun to grind. Or so I thought. Basically what happens is, you get a bunch of people appearing out of nowhere KSing you like it’s going out of fashion. And you get a fair bit of abuse on top (“THIS IS OURS!” “Report!11” etc.) to make it perfectly clear you’re not wanted around there.

Same thing happens at the Dina Bee Farm and there’s also a good little grinding spot with a bunch of Chupalukas in the next area, which is controlled entirely by bots in every single channel.
Basically, every good spot at this point has bots and/or people KSing and bullying you until you go away. Having only 5 or so channels to choose from doesn’t exactly help. Meanwhile, there aren’t anywhere near enough quests to help you level past these stages. I’m gonna try the Roxona Reconstruction Agency next, but every other area I haven’t already cleared is more than 10 levels higher than my character.

So what I’d like to know is… does it ever get better? Can I just grind to, say, level 175 and the amount of quests will pick up again? Or will I get a decent amount of quests again after reaching a certain level? What am I supposed to do in order to get those levels? It looks like all the good grinding spots are ridiculously overfarmed or flooded with bots. Where’s a decent area to grind a few levels when you’re 170 and all out of quests?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The quests do pick up again- you’ll eventually go through places like ruklys street and wherever else, the quest lines then fade out again around 230

Noteworthy: maps with a high spawn rate arent necessarily better xp because each map has its own XP modifier on mobs.

my own browser strugling with the implented table, so url is:

people suck, ignore them.

though, i believe it is proper “etiquette” in demon prison, and similar places, to pick a single room, and stick to that room for your group.

There are plenty of exp cards to carry you all the way up to 220 witouth ever grinding anything.

Even if you use them as you get them? I’ve cleared everything up to and including Laukyme Swamp (179), next highest zone seems to be Tyla Monastery (183) so I’m still 3 levels too low to receive quests there. Unless I’m missing something, which is entirely possible.

do mercenary missions in Fedimian City 3x a day, use exp tome.

There’s an exp reset happening at lvl 46, 86, 136, 186, 236 so just try hitting to lvl 186 and it will get faster again.

and also do dungeon runs 3x a day, it also gives you enormous exp like the mercenary mission plus using exp tome 30%+ token 30% gives more exp.

Thanks! I didn’t even know about mercenary missions until you just mentioned them! Now I just gotta figure out what they all are, there’s a huge list at the NPC here.

the crowded male npc at the bottom is the dungeon master, and the siaulai first mission is the default queue for all if you want to get in fast.

The boss lvl is determined by the team member with the highest lvl.

And also with cross-server queue you can team-up with the Orshans now.

Thanks again, that was extremely helpful. I’m gonna queue up for siaulai then.

if you want to know your available missions just type /indun at the chat

type //ping or // ping(kinda forgot) if you want to know your ping time to the the server

Map exploration goals. For every map you explore to 100% you recieve 3 exp cards for the relevant level. There’s also monster kill goals which reward exp cards as well in the wings of vibora npc in Klaipeda. There’s also mercenery missions which give good exp and the mercenary dailies for even more exp cards.

this is the worst way to use them. then you level up rapidly to start… but quickly get too far above the level of the zone and stop earning any significant amount of exp from the mobs you are fighting… which is honestly where most of your exp comes from.

exp tomes are quite effective at low levels, but like every other Exp Bonus they are additive.
there are also a lot of exp bonuses you did not know that you got, making exp tomes at high levels worth a lot less.

for instance, Maple Forest already has a “map exp bonus” of 350%. with an exp tome, that brings you up to 380%. not nearly as impressive.

Um… “most of my exp” really just comes from grinding mobs, if I choose to do so instead of using my exp cards in the first place.

After the first 150 or so levels, experience gained from killing baddies is so ridiculously low even with a token and an exp tome, I’d rather just use the cards and get it over with. I still complete every quest and go for 100% map completion in order to get every card possible, but so far I see no reason to save my cards.

Granted, I’ve started to run out of quests a bit at my current level, but that’s in part because I was simply unaware of mercenary missions and daily quests. I’ve been ignoring those for over 70 levels, meaning I’ve been missing out on a whole lot of extra experience. Now that I know about this content, it really isn’t all that bad. Of course I cannot tell how much worse it might get at the higher levels as I’m simply not there yet.

If you keep questing and exploring every map, as well as trying to fill the 2-3 a day mercenary mission quota you wont have to grind mobs until around 220+

Oh hey, noob question: Do dungeons level-scale at all? When I join a mercenary mission, the game scales monster levels to match it with the highest level member in my group. What about instanced dungeons? Let’s say I’m level 174 and I haven’t unlocked the 175 dungeon yet. Any point queuing up for any lower level dungeons? Do they scale at all or am I just wasting everyone’s time?

Only missions, dailies and party quests scale by level. Instanced dungeons have fixed monster levels.

You won’t get XP in older dungeons, but you still get cubes. At level 174 you could for example do 3x rush on the 90s dungeon per day in hope to get Arde for $$$.

So lower level players won’t get penalized if I show up to their level 90 dungeon being nearly twice their level?

Yes, there’s no penalty for them (unless you rush even though they need the XP).

Generally you’d find other high level players that want to rush 90 (run straight to the boss and kill him) 3 times fast manually instead of using the party search though as rushing is much faster than killing all.

But I personally enjoy helping others so no prob for me.

Too much Talt can make you salty, though.
