ok so IMC said the 1000 highest level characters in the 1rst beta test will get another key but wouldn’t the exclude the other 4k from ever getting a beta key again i my self work and do not have much time to play mmo i was really looking forward to beta test anyone else feel this way?
This was regarding the 2nd wave of Beta keys for the 1st iCBT that they released a few days into the iCBT. That the top 1k highest level players get 1 key each to give out to whoever they want. This doesn’t apply anymore now.

The beta key gives access to a 1-time download of the game. Anyone who has the game can participate in the beta, so all of the first beta testers will be able to log in to any other beta coming up. And yes like SixPool said, that was for an additional key to give to a friend or whoever.

No need to waste keys on people that can’t contribute. Beta testing is not about making fans happy.

The purpose of a beta is to test for bugs, get feedback on game mechanics, and test server capacity and stability. Everyone playing the beta is at the very least contributing to the last option.
Different stages has different goals. Capacity and stability is usually done during open beta via different kind of stress tests.
This doesn’t seem fair in anyway, more like a strict opinion. Beta testers are here to test. The first CBT was to check infrastructure and server stability as per IMC. They had a lower exp rate for a reason and just because players didn’t play per say 12 hours a day like some players does not mean they did not contribute at all. Actually a player can be first rank and not posted a single bug nor contributed anything which they still do but you get my drift. As per OP i don’t see why IMC would have a need to do that, usually Beta test phases will increment players in each one including old testers and a new batch of keys for new testers. As they need to keep testing larger loads on the servers.
I hope I can get a beta key for the second wave of beta test. I missed the first one.

Honestly, How bout the people who haven’t been in the beta? Might wanna get some people in based on actual merit criteria( such as previous beta experience, Computer specs(for testing), Purpose for wanting to join beta… etc.) Of course not to say the first batch didnt have people that met such criteria, but unfortunately there are people who didn’t participate for testing and debugging purposes. Instead some people chose to just play/ know more about the game themselves. (less than 100pct survey participation proves that).
