Sometimes i like to play with and by myself

just because you need to have resources to plan a heist means it’s justifiable for a heist OAO;;

i mean, shoplifting is pretty inconvenient to do, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok because you’re “working” hard on it O___o

with that logic, anything is ok as long as you’re being inconvenienced from it o___O

it draws near to the idea “it’s not a crime as long as you don’t get caught” O3O

@Csiko OwO!!!

that self buffing idea OAO

i wonder if someone uses that as a form of silver transfer :'D

Sometimes I like to play with myself.

1 account for Mr Lefty, 1 account for Ms Righty
2 accounts for my feet
1 account for me arse
1 account for me head

and 1 account for me axe!

Not my idea, but people do it.

Also yes, many people RMT with alt accounts. Hopefully that goes away when people actually start getting banned on their main accounts once caught. We’ll see.

haha mainly because I see from many games, for example Guild Wars 2, players are still fine when they use many accounts. This matter is kinda similar to “Is it ok if I let my brother play my account during my business trip?”. As long as you don’t do anything like cheating or hacking or exploiting, no one actually cares what you do with your account(s).
Shoplifting is not an accurate example because this action is not allowed at the first time already. However you have right to play any game you like in a normal way.

This matter seems not to be answered by GM or STAFF because they cannot say No since it will affect legit players who have many accounts but they also cannot say YES because of bot users and exploiters. It is a grey area, look likely.

This whole thing is a grey area, anyway.

You can’t be too specific because there are too many different cases.

Some folks get entertained by multi-boxing.

There is always the all out encouragement of multi-boxing, but since TOS isn’t subscription based, there isn’t any point in encouraging that.

Edit: We can always suggest that TOS be switched to a subscription-based service, with severe limitations on free players. That in itself is a ‘limitation’ placed on multi-boxers.

i know what you mean by borrowing other people’s account ‘w’/

and it’s another when multiple accounts is utilized for free additional slots

but it’s really as simple as boiling down to what the intention and actions for using these other accounts

my example is just putting it as bluntly and as wholesome as i could. i could give better and more accurate relatable examples but i don’t think it’s proper for the forum OxO;

You can though. Used 3rd party cheat tools or anything of the sort = ban, normal gameplay = fine.

Even for event abuse it’s possible since you can track amount of trades done on the same IP or between accounts that shared IP at least once.

Now if the person can manage to play like 4 instances of the game, one with each limb in a “no game no life” style, they can simply respect the rules like anyone else, no special treatment needed.

Yeah, i’m referring to just multi-accounting here. (Ignoring those who use 3rd party tools etc)

Can’t be TOO specific about that, since each case is…sort of different.

Just like how the Diamond Anvil shenannigans was completely within the rules.

It’s not really too different though. And most players who actually uses multiple accounts would probably stop once IMC puts a “this can lead to a ban, and isn’t allowed anymore” so it would be reduced even more.

While many details are different you can map them to big settings, like:
a) Trading suspicious silver to main accounts.
b) Abusing too many event rewards with accounts that shared IP at least once.
c) “AFK” helping the main some ways.
d) Leeching dungeon rewards.

Each group can take a huge part of the numbers, small cases that slip out can be studied later just like the current RMT policy works.

Best sentence in the thread.

Before I lost track of the topic, dont get me wrong. I am not taking any sides here. My point is in reality, some people have “advantages” in real life that affects gaming (such as being able to have multiple pc that can run the game).

Now is it unfair for those who do not or cannot have multiple pc? Maybe. But thing is, you cannot blame a person for hving mny devices and he decides to play multiple accounts. That is like saying it is unfair just because he has the means to do so.

Many times, life can be really unfair yes. But some ppl simply have the means and that does not mean they are cheating unless stated by the rules

no probs on multiple machines, i’m not even focusing on that, but more one multiple accounts.

and on the why, if it’s to avoid something that should be paid like everyone else, then i think it’s a form of abuse.

How about if OP buys TP and slots on all multiple accounts, is that justified?

getting one account full and creating a new one justifies that it is not avoiding purchasable slots

but, what player does to all these characters is another story OxO;

Yeah, that’s some specific uses of multi-accounts. My post is referring to this.

Analogy:

Driving isn’t against the rules. (Multi-accounting isn’t against the rules.)

However, these are (possibly court-legal with a good lawyer, depending on your country)
Driving with your feet
Driving with your hands while standing on your head
Driving with your tongue while tap dancing.

Reason being that if you list the specific things that are ‘against the rules’, you’ll miss a few.

So, just like driving, leave it to the discretion of the officer on a case-by-case basis.

Some details are already covered in other ‘areas’, anyway, like suspicious silver being tracked regardless of sub/main account.

The rest is just…eh. Grey area arguments.

Edit: Stuff like multi-bots would be already covered in the ‘bot’ category, and so on.

The unfair isn’t about real life stuff. It’s about intended game mechanics. If you have an event that you can only get once per account that means only once per person.

You can get it with many account, my point is: If you were intended to get the reward multiple times, you’d be able to do so in one account.

It’s this tiny barrier of “intended” vs “unintended” that people calls unfair.

This is the whole point of making it explicit so honest players avoids it.

i see it more of driving synonymous to playing, rather than having multiple accounts ‘w’;;;

which can be something like driving with a second car attached to your car while your primary car isn’t even occupied

or take this example

here due to the traffic problem, there are specific roads/lanes that doesn’t allow vehicles with only 1 personnel in it.

of course there will be people who would have their house help ride with them for the sole purpose of avoiding that rule, which can be penalized if proven

it’s kind of a weird policy, but if you look beyond that, that is how it looked like with this scenario

Well, the whole problem is enforcement, which is why I left it as a the ‘case-by-case’ basis decision.

There’ll be people playing on the same IP (dorms, families, etc), family and friends sharing accounts, etc…
An entire guild can gift the guild leader 1 out of 4 DAs (as an example), etc.

Trying to list each and every case explicitly is an exercise in futility.

@Aoi_Kanashi Yeah, car-pooling laws.

You’re right about that the weird policy part, on top of which, the issue is enforcement. How far are you going to spend manpower/time to enforce a rule on a single person, since you have to figure out who has their family members riding with them (and are they actually abusing it? maybe they share the same workplace), etc.

Pretty much is another example of this scenario, multi-accounts are legal (car-pooling for using the specific road/lanes is legal), but all the additional stuff is really on a case-by-case basis.

Most of the time its easier to just enforce the basic ruling - multiple folks per car, on these roads/lanes.

Edit: If they break other laws, of course, you’ll prosecute them based on that law that was broken (see bots, RMT, etc)

still feels like an unfair advantage through deception, which is a rule in ToS though ‘w’

:stuck_out_tongue: If my neighbor works in the office next door to mine…

I can carpool every day the same as if I got a family member who works in the same office.

For people who don’t have the above advantage, yeah it’ll feel unfair…that’s life, though.

i mean, in your case it’s ok. but what i was saying is on the scenario when peeps bring people unrelated to the trip just to bypass that policy OwO

i even see peeps put dummies in their car just to do that XD
