But you can see the situation, right? There’s around 3-7 players in that same spot and you’ve gathered 7 mobs around you while killing them takes almost half a minute for you when it takes 2 seconds for others. Maybe you should change channel or spot in that situation and not everybody else? It would be silly to expect that all those other players around you would be that understanding when the competition for mobs is that high. And on certain maps the situation really is like that for short periods of time.
If there’s just two players on same spot, then I think it would be rude to KS the other. Even then it’s situational, like if the other player is utterly bad at playing with no understanding of gear, slow auto attack pretty much the only mean of dealing damage and he tries to gather over half of the mobs. Then I’d be more that happy to KS everything or leave just one mob to send him a message, if this attempt of hogging every mob persists. And yes, you see all kinds of players who just like to gather mobs around them for no apparent reason when they won’t AOE/multi hit at all.
But as I said, it’s situational and it would be hard to make any kind of pointless rules which would be pretty much impossible to enforce anyways. And any kind of tagging mechanisms would be easy to abuse and make others do the actual killing for you if they want the mobs respawn at all. It would be slower and inefficient that way but trolls exist.
But you do understand where there are flaws in your argument right? And plus, you’re just bringing up points that I mentioned in my original post. You suggesting me to not have taken peltasta and should have taken a class like highlander suggests an impetus for a meta. If everyone wants to be an aoe dealer when FTP comes out, what will the future of the game be? If people who haven’t played the game yet start to know that KS is a huge problem, no one will want to be a tank or healer. What will dungeons be like then in the long run? There will be a huge lack of depth in the game.
Also, the game is extremely linear as it is. If a person is near you, there is a 98% chance that they are trying to achieve the same exact objective as you are. Either complete a quest or try to gather the materials for an untradeable recipe that they received through said quest. Some mmorpgs don’t have that problem cause of how open the world is and how spawns are very spread out. If a tagging system for kills steals were to be inefficient, what would you call this current system? Efficient? No way. In no way is it efficient for a player to start dealing damage to a couple of monsters, only for them to see that most of the kills were credited to the ks’er. How is that more efficient than a tagging system? Then let’s implement the GW2 system that other users have mentioned, where all the players get all the same exp and drops if they contributed to the kill. I’d rather let a 1 damage dealer get the same exp that I do than have someone to completely steal my mob that I already started to buff up for or started to deal damage to.
And yes, being a class as such as peltasta -> hoplite doesn’t allow me to clear a 7 monster mob as quick as an archer or wizard. But, I’m not going to waste my 20-30 CD skills on one monster. I’d rather deal some damage to all my monsters than inefficiently grind by killing one monster at a time. Like, wtf. How are you going to say that some classes should just auto attack one monster at a time in the corner. I still have the ability to deal some aoe damage and I shouldn’t be punished by some massive aoe dealer for swash buckling 7 monsters who can kill them in 2 seconds whereas I might take 10 second.
Meh . totaly agree. Leveling support even if you skip all the blue quests and just do 3 dungeons . 3 missions a day and then play something else, at some point you wil have to do story quests because well , 3 stat points is a lot, and its a pain on the level that aint imagenable. as support all those fkers who ks you while you solo, will beg you to heal them or link for them or buff them. But as soon as you try to do those story quests, Well lol i r have big sword or bow. So you been hitting that mob for last minute? Yay let me just kill steal it to do it faster. Then you wait about a minute for respawn, start it, another st head passes by and does the same. Only thing that helps me is a macro wishing there and there whole familys deaths from cancer. Somewhat calms me down after you spend 30 minutes trying to do one bloody quest.
