If I can get an idea on how the math works for upgrading weapons I can setup some computer code to tell me how many tries it would take to +20 this item, as well as the silver lost every time potential hits 0 and have to start over on a new item.
All I do is setup a loop that keeps running until it finally succeeds. It could be 10,000 tries or 50,000 tries I dunno but it would be fun to see just how lucky someone has to get to achieve this and prove it as an exploit.
This table assumes you upgrading until 0 potential weapons.
Getting to +20 from +6 is basically 0.78% chance from 4 potential until potential goes down to 0, which is not the case here seems.
Assuming it got “one” potential left with the exploit, its 0% chance…

I forgot to edit out my statement. Anywho the chart assumes you upgrades until potential reaches 0. Example +6 to +15 with 3 potential left, you have 3.66% chance to get to your desired refinement level.
Computer code for what? 0.78% is 1 in 128.
I’m curious to see how many times you’d run out of potential and have to restart on a new item. Hence how many tries. Knowing the silver cost would also make this worth it just to see the potential silver spent.
You can also continue to try to upgrade at 0 potential, so it’s just how far do you want to risk it at a 51% chance per enhance?

It’s hard to find exact cost per attempt on specific grade for over +15. You can refer the ToS Mechanic Guide for general idea. I pulled the table from there.

Some players claim it’s “supposed to work that way”.
The exploit renders golden anvils meaningless. If golden anvils exist then the exploit isn’t legit.
Also we see your party’s names in the minimap quite clearly.

+20 in a row = 0,017573985% chance, thats still higher than finding a card in ragnarok. /ho
