Some thoughts about OBT

Hi ToS community. We all know about ■■■■ that’s happened for the last month, but not all of us thought about real reasons.

First of all let’s speak about stuff members and their actions.
I have two theories why we got notified about OBT and then got P2P release:

  1. Stuff got wrong or not full information from company heads and post them on their hype train. That’s not fully their fault, but it’s a way too unprofessional.
  2. Stuff knows about all of this and by order of heads start hype people. Thats totally their fault, but who want’s to be fired?
    Results: Stuff members betrayed us. Stuff, you lose all our trust in you.
    P.S. Stuff, why you deleted all posts about OBT announcement? Thats completely rude!

Then i want to speak about OBT that we got.

  1. Is anyone saw a paid OBT in your life? I haven’t. I saw paid CBT, not fully paid access to CBT. But OBT means OPEN, not closed or paid. I know that server hosting cost a lot, but do you, guys, want to pay for broken/bugged game?
  2. Founder pack cost and stuff in it is not good. TP coins for all money that we paid and two hats? I better go to play Overwatch for that price and be happy guy with good, not bugged game in my hands.
  3. Server location. It’s REALLY major things that buyer should know. Are you sure that iOBT server should locate only in East cost? Peoples in europe are not international anymore? IMC, we want “Goddess statue near us”! I’m not satisfied with 260 ping, better play kToS unofficially for lower price and same ping without waiting.
  4. More info about P2P release? We want to know specs of founder pack and shop prices on iOBT! I’m not gonna buy undefined piece of ■■■■ for 50$…

I’m getting tired of seeing that posted on these forums. This isn’t iCBT1; the game isn’t in that bad of a state. The amount of bugs in the kToS version aren’t anywhere near game-breaking, so this “Game is broken” has no basis.

Also, Open Betas do not necessarily mean “Free”. An Open Beta just means that it’s open to the public, whether you have to pay for it or not. Not defending the whole fiasco here, just letting you know.

The value in those TP coins in the 3-month package actually outweigh the value of the TP coins themselves outside of the package.

^Other than those, your points are right.

You also failed to mention how this 3 months head start with no wipe will influence the game economy and playerbase. Nothing positive can come from this, not in the short term nor long term

I have looked at kToS and saw a lot of bugs. They are continuously fixing, but they are still here.

IMO OBT means that some group of peoples are privileged to test it free for their help and other group can support project and get first look before release.
And OBT is not a early Release, it’s TEST. So, again, wipe is needed.

Yeah, maybe i’m too greedy, but are you don’t think that peoples that give a first project support don’t earned privileges? This two hats are not kind of privileges that i want to have.

I’m shure that each wave will get their own server. So… every wave will be almost separated from another and be in equal conditions.
Yeah, players will choose server itself, but advanced players will choose new server rather servers from previous waves.

What you call equal conditions is exactly the oposite. If you say youself that players that come later will choose the newer server, then what exactly is the point? The biggest community will always be on the f2p servers. while you will have 3 servers with highly fractured community and low population. Hoping that those players will be content with playing in low pop servers is a pipe dream. They will either not buy, leave the game after 1 month, or restart on a new server 3 times over 3 months. Like i said, the outcomes from this are all negative
