Some Things Never Change, Eh?

I have been with Tree of Savior since waaay back. I was there when they had a 3 month of “early access” deal announcement. I left the game entirely earlier this year. (Around February) I just came back to see what’s up and woo boy, it’s not a pretty sight,

There is some time between initial Korean patch and the Steam patch. They should have an ample time to QA the build. I understand that the QA process cannot find all the bugs and issues but still looking at the history of iTOS so far. It is ridiculous. The game is at least a year old now. Refine your dev process for crying out loud.

Also, I’d hate to bring up the kTOS news into this discussion but from what I can understand. The DPK system has been a subject of controversy lately. They silently doubled the DPK rate and then they gave the kTOS users a fake “Half the DPK” event. You know what? That’s some shady shite. Then again, from what I have experienced, IMC is not entirely ‘greedy’ sometimes they are just incompetent. I am guessing that the cause of the current problem is a result of a botched job fixing that scandal.

Like I have said before, the game is now a year old. Some stability should be expected. I am so tired of seeing all these innocent GMs, STAFF members and CMs having to deal with what should have been dealt with by the Dev team, I can imagine them frantically searching through the database and retrieving and sending the items. Now that’s brutal.

don’t know much about that kTos event but i can’t understand why it is shady in your opinion.

Well, they doubled the DPK system without telling anyone and then they had this event to “halve the DPK.” As if to give the users a false sense of advantage.

ok. but it’s the same thing.

at the opposite, knowing that dpk are always doubled will make me happier than knowing it’s only for a limited time event.
i still don’t understand their move

You dare to understand IMC’s move?
IMC works in very mysterious ways.

To be honest, I gave up trying to understand IMC’s decisions.
I mean, consider other video game companies that have been criticised like EA, Konami etc.
At least their actions can be understood in terms of internal politics and general greed. That of IMC on the other hand are filled with incompetence and bizarre way of thinking.

Homie this game has been crap for a long time.
But you know what the answer is?
Don’t take tree of savior even remotely seriously and you can enjoy your stay here.
The minute you start giving a fuk you lose hard.
IMC Fuked up hard and players are turning around trying to witch hunt, blame, envy and be angry at other players because IMC went full retard. Lol what

FFXIV Stormblood coming out.
TSW is trying to change (not really but hey its got a great story).
ESO expansion
E3 for all your console and PC multiplayer/single-player games.

Leave ToS as a casual thing you advance at a snails pace at to resolve your burnout from other things and play some real games for your real breather.

Yeah, that’s what I have learnt as well

A side note - I miss STAFF_John to be honest. At least he had a sense of humour about the whole thing.
Well, he embarrassed himself to death.
Requiescat in pace

The only true here is that imc staff are not preppared to implement this game from korea

Imc fill the game with a loot os stupid features and mechanics Who they think that make this game more “Special” but that mechanics are stupid. ( like the wasted attribute sistem or the ítem/character bind sistem) Who Will make usted waste time and money when they surely Will be broke by some way (again)

And now that some of the dev.team pissed off. The stupid dpk sistem they Blame on us and punish evryone undiscriminatly

If imc have baned playera before ( on te harvest event or the uphill exploit) less players must xploit this Kind of glitches and everyone must be playing happy now …

In some cases, banning the exploiters is necessary but at least the problem right now is quite unfair. The system was glitched af. And the users did what they thought was the most rational by trading etc. I mean, it is not like they were actively duplicating the items. The items were dropped double. Heck, if I saw items dropping double without any wrongdoing on my part. I would go “hot damn!” Blaming them for doing these would be like blaming someone for cashing in a lottery ticket s/he have found on the street. Not perfectly honest, yes. But understandable.

Of course, I guess IMC could say that they are only banning those who were actively trying to exploit the system. But what infuriates me is that why wasn’t this QA’d in the first place? Was this problem undetectable in the test environment? Did they even check? Maybe I am being too harsh. BUT! From what I have seen from IMC so far. This is not just a mistake. It’s a systemic failure.

Get your act together, IMC. You are not an indie dev.

Just to avoid any confusion. How I feel about this situation is that firstly, angered that the development process or QA process is far too unreliable with a history of bugs. Secondly, while I don’t think it is not within IMC’s rights to punish those who were actively exploiting this situation, but I do believe that the foul play on the user’s side is minuscule and somewhat understandable.
