Some stupid questions

Hey I’m really excited to see this game becoming reality, really looking forward to this game releasing so I can start leveling Wizard.

I was just thinking about some issues in this game that I’m still confused about:

#1 If you are say Wizard rank 1 and go Pyromancy(since it’s only available in rank 2), you can only put 2 ranks into Pyromancy if you want to go elementalist.

So this means I cannot get maximum level in Enchant Fire(supposedly increases fire damage of spells? correct me if I’m wrong), since I can only get to level it to level 10.

Just seems a bit stupid system which forces me to put extra points to max out something, but I lose chances to use the next upgrade in return.

I was just thinking why not make it available rank 1, put 15 points into anything, all skills levelable to 15, and rank 2 would just allow more powerful magics to be leveled, like faster casting and so on.

#2 So maximum level is 100? But what about maximum stats?

Can you go over 100 in stats and how much you gain statpoints to levelup per level? Is it worth maxing out 1 single stat, say intelligence if you want to go raid spec fire mage? (something like this http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/gbyn46479s/)

#3 Respeccing doesn’t seem to be option?

So if I want to have PvP spec I have to roll and level other Wizard am I right?

Or if I want to make healer to max level I pretty much have to raid from level 1 to level 100 since I wont be getting a lot of damaging abilities or stats.

#4 Can classes like chronomancer rewind boss to drop loot twice? I saw Oracle was able to put death timer on enemy, this usable on bosses too?

#5 In general I’m not huge fan of putting multiple points into leveling up single talent
Any plans to maybe rework this idea a bit so you’d have only 3 points to spend every 5 levels? Sure you might want to have 1 point in all situational skills like revive or something like that, or abilities that start strong even with just 1 point, ie Chronomancer rewind time.

#6 The most important… the LOOKS
So if you want to pyromancer 3 ranks your only choice is to be Chronomancer or Alchemist, I guess. Anyway, does this mean the final class upgrade you choose will always be the one that defines your looks? Or are you maybe able to keep the looks of previous class if you so choose? Any plans for that?

  1. It’s a trade-off. Do you really want that max level Enchant Fire or do you want Elementalist skills? Clerics make a similar choice early on - do you want resurrection or do you want a better heal.

  2. Max level is 500ish. I’ve seen stats go as high as 248, can probably get higher. There is a discussion regarding INT, I highly suggest searching for it! I’m too lazy to go find it x3

  3. Restatting might be a paid option - I’ve only heard rumors of it. Skill resets, I have not heard a peep of.

  4. Yes. This might change.

  5. Probably not. Sorcerer has some skills that cap at 1 though. Subject to change with future upgrades.

  6. Your previous and current job costume are probably character bound costumes - you are able to switch between them.

  1. Yes, that’s correct, if you pick Elementalist, you can’t max Pyro. And no, Enchant Fire doesn’t strengthen fire based magic. It makes your auto attack have extra fire based damage.

  2. No, speculated max level is 600 based on enemy levels on other maps. So far, the highest stat I’ve seen is 255 but Idk if that’s the max. You get 1 point per level but every 5 points placed into a stat, you get 1 extra point. So 5 becomes 6, 11 > 12, 17 > 18 and so on. Imo, it’s not worth maxing 1 stat because you get less relative gain the higher and higher you go.

  3. No news on stat/skill resets as of now.

  4. Probably not because that would be OP. Same for this, and even if they could it would probably be an insane amount of time anyway as it will depend on the enemy you’re death sentencing, so not worth it.

  5. No opinion on this one. You can spec however you want. But I doubt they’ll rework it like what you want.

  6. No, you can use your old costume even when you’re higher rank. As long as you went through that rank, you’ll keep the costume.

Wow… very bolded… anyways

1: That was the point of the Ranks and Classes. It was to make you give up certain things in a class to go onto the next class if you desired. If you however liked the current skills and wanted to upgrade them, you would give up the next set of skills. By going Pyro C1, you’re giving up Wiz C2 because you wanted to go that direction. Someone else could have seen merit and wanted to go to Wiz C2 because that was what their build was.

2: Maximum level is not 100. Maximum level was hypothesized to be 600 on release… or maybe it was already decided it was 600 on release… I dunno but it’s definitely not 100. Even in the CBT we’ve played in, the max level was 250 and 200 respectively.

3: Respeccing is only going to be viable in CBT I think… but either way, like the classes argument, it was meant for you to make choices by giving up certain things for the build you want and generally, if you’re building a PvP build, it should work perfectly fine for PvE.

4: No clue but that’s what we’re going to test in the Betas… should probably ask a KCBT tester since they actually got to those levels and we have not in the time we were allowed to test.

5: This wasn’t really a question… I don’t think? Plus, the skills were meant to have variety by giving you 15 skill points in every rank. Not everyone is going to max out skills because they want to have multiple skills.

6: o.o you can choose the costume you want if you have the respective class for it. It’s a reward from your class change.

Thanks for the answers.

  1. That’s the purpose of this Rank/Circle System. It simulates the hard choices you have to make about you char’s evolution. Upgrading a skill or having a new one, it’s YOUR choice

  2. MaxLVL isn’t 100. I don’t think someone knows exactly what is the max atm… Only various speculations…
The same goes for the stats… Speculations about 255. We’ll know when the game will be released.

  3. Reset Skill/Stats will probably be a payable option.

  4. I don’t think so. It will be OP. Boss fights are instanced, and you’re forced to leave the instance after a boss’ death. I don’t think you can go back in the closed instance… Death timer on boss?! Too much OP, so it’s impossible.

  5. Some skills have only 1 level. Some have only 3. Leveling up a skill can go up to 15. Attributes can go up to far more! :stuck_out_tongue:

  6. Class comes with a “costume”, that you can choose whenever you want. You can be an Alchemist, with your Wizard Costume (naked in fact), or this your Pyro Costume.

There’s no such thing as a stupid question.
