Some quetions about Pelta and Dragoon

Hello guys, i am playing ToS from around 2 weeks. I love the swordman class, but i have some doubts;

About Peltasta:

  • I wanna level a tank becouse i have some friends which are playing dps classes, but when i level alone i have a lot of mana troubles, i find that peltasta is really mana angry ( 2 umbo blow and rim blow and i am out of mana), so what is a good stat allocation for a tank? CON = STR with a bit of SPR for mana regen?

About Dragoon:
I heard that swordman DPS is very bad compared with Wizards or Archers. Now, this is perfectly sensed, becouse if swordman does even the same DPS of wiz/archers, this two classes doenst have reason to exist. But if in an istance dungeon i bring the utility of The skull swig ( Armor shred to 0) and the INT reduction from crown plus my own dps, i should be usefull anyway, or not?

I don’t think there is a perfect sense into that
With our current system right now, Swordsman is just pure tank fodder with DPS routes technically a “High risk, no reward” kinda thing and that system and concept is pure garbage.

For tanking, all you ever need is CON and SPR right now. STR has no place in a tank because of the absurb damage being dealt by magic DPS and Fletchers right now.

That said, if you really can’t afford to not be able to do your thing when you’re alone then get Hoplite.

About SP issues:

  • SPR investment is hardly ever worth it for a Swordsman - STR/CON/DEX will always give us better returns. What you can do is mitigate SP consumption by making your skill use more efficient. Are you hitting/killing more than 1 mob per skill? Are you using auto-attacks to finish off low-health mobs? I’d also recommend investing in a stack of firewood. As a Swordsman, your SP pool will always be quite small, so it won’t take that long to refill at a campfire.

About Utility/Damage:

  • I’ll have to disagree with you there about low damage on Swordsmen making sense. Swordsmen are not the only class that brings useful utility to a party, so why should we be the only ones penalized in terms of damage for it? Wizards and Archers bring area crowd control, AOE damage zones, and they take less damage by being able to deal their damage at range or on the move. Mobs in dungeons die quickly enough that Skull Swing and Crown barely make a difference except on bosses, and without a Linker it’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to apply those debuffs to multiple mobs at once.

Mmhh ok, and for DEX? Someone says that is mandatory max DEX, others says that with Finestra i dont need Dex… what do you say about it?
