Some questions about building Taoist

Hi there its me again.
This time I need opinion about building Taoist.
As I know so far this is by far the most expensive class on cleric tree?
Oh my.

Anyway, stat will be PURE INT and purely for PVE.

  1. Cleric 2>Krivis 3> Pardoner 2> Taoist
  2. Cleric 2>Krivis 3>Druid 2>Taoist

So far i could only manage to come out with these two build.
The problem lies at rank 6-7 as i have no idea what should i slot it.
Please advise. Thank you.

ps: i know i did also asked about PD on the other thread. the reason why i asked about taoist is because i am again rerolling my cleric so I hope this time ill make it right. before going for PD i need to know if Taoist will be another better choice.

Taoist or Pardoner3 is most expensive depending on your playstyle. (decatose costs 1500 silver with a 15s cd.)

As for taoist builds r6-7:

  • Druid2 is taken for the transformation + probable druid3 on r9 to double your magic attack. (assuming other r9 aren’t better.) PvE oriented.

  • Priest + X will turn it into a support oriented build with decent damage.

Where x is usually:

  • Druid: Telepath + zaibas works wonders for PvP.
  • Oracle: Counterspell + prophecy for PvP dmg/condition prevention.
  • PD: condi prevention, heal and aoe damage.
  • Kabba: HP bonus and reflect dmg.

Only take pardoner if you take pd1 as well. But then you lose out on priest and dmg won’t be as good as an eventual druid3.

And don’t delete chars if possible, some might be quite salvageable.

Plague doctor2 is very good aoe dmg, ideal for farming dungeons and other areas for items/silver. Ideal for solo or small parties.
Works fine in both PvE and PvP.

Taoist has a low hit limit but deals huge dmg per hit, making it ideal versus world bosses. Best when partied up with a linker and druid3 for regular content.
Almost entirely PvE oriented, but with the right r6-7 classes it can be decent for PvP.

As a side note from what Wurmheart said, there are other options as well.

For instance, if you wanted to have some filler between zaibas nukes and the like you could always grab bokor instead of a rank 6 and plague doctor for a rank 7 for that incinerate. You’re going INT anyway so why not benefit from both as well.

Although, i only suggest these things if you’re planning on going pure PvE. In pvp, youd want either the druid or orcale, or both really, just to force people into your aoes and to protect yourself from magic and debuffs.

Pretty sure the only requirement for Taoist is to have krivis 3 and i wouldnt pass up cleric2 in a build like that either since its so open ended.

also dont go full int, you will die many times, even with heal (what other classes dont seem to get)
