Some notes from the GM-meet-up

Hi there,

here are some notes from the GM-meet up. My notes are from the Fedi-server.
Feel free to add more or IMC post some official notes.

  • about channel-crashes: was asked to send in tickets with time of crash and so on

  • R9 in 2017

  • White 315 weapons soon; they are bringing over content from KTOS periodically

  • Awakening & Enhancement should/will be improved
[imo the Enhancement-part is done now]

  • Trans-items: will stay untradeable via team-storage

  • guild-missions in video-sequence: no concrete answer, but there will be some change for guild missions due to the guild-changes it seems

  • they are preparing something against abuse of game mechanics/afk-farming/…, but it is delayed due to the damage-change-patch; this will not be a horde of reapers (question was about banning and stopping afk-farmers)

  • solmiki-symbols: they have received many requests/feedback about that; maybe these will accelerate solmiki-symbols being implemented

  • mouse-mode is second choice for user-mode (seemingly not a top priority to make it better)

  • alchemist-tincturing: Will you improve alchemist’s tincturing and other skills to not takin an eternity (for making items)? --> don’t think I saw the plan for that, but ok

Anyone asked about SPR being seemingly bugged or just pretty bad at all? (concerning summon damages as a whole)

Ive asked about whether they plan to revamp orsha maps into higher level because:

-Earlygame is so fast and has like 5x too many quests

-Hardly anyone is ever starting in orsha or intentionally goes there, which is a shame considering how beautiful those maps are

-Even enthusiast of orsha maps like me never do those maps due to being forced to do revelation quests on klai side for the free stat points (by the time youre done with those, you passed 100 and have too much to do)

-It never felt like it was designed as an alternate starting town (Id love to see them make one in future though), which is also quite obvious from how pretty it is. Would make more sense as the third town after fedimian. (Also notice how there is for example r7 inspired mobs in novaha)

I didnt expect any exciting answer to be honest, so it was a surprise to me that the GM said that orsha maps are being changed and that it is a work in progress with low priority and no date set.

Also, someone seriously asked if they can add teleport scrolls that warp you directly to dungeom entrances…

  • They do not intend to revert fireball into it’s previous form right now.

  • Classes/skills/items will be further rebalanced.

  • They do not intend to make dungeons accesible from everywhere.

  • There may be fishing in future.

  • The buyback option should be returning soon.

  • They stated that tradable hairstyles is a good idea.

  • GvG is being worked on but since not so many players enjoys it, it’s not that important to being worked on instantly.

  • They are aware of bugs and try to fix them.

  • New stats could be added into f1 character info UI if needed.

  • The optimization is not currently planned since rebalancing is their top 1 right now.

  • It’s not end of balance.

Well @Charon I still do Orsha questline. :v Also I’m pretty sure that in beta Orsha was going to be last and highest level royal city in the north of the continent. They changed it in open beta to starting one in the south idk why for real…

Huge thanks for doing this!

Good to know they have ongoing investigations for these. They’re either bugs that players COULD abuse or bugs that players are ACTUALLY abusing.

This is good news. I’ve never understood their reluctance to stop this. They have probably even lost income because of the ease of which it is to gather Silver from Dina Bee. I’m surprised they haven’t nuked the map entirely with a demon invasion event or something, rendering it useless for afk farmers.

This is a huge mistake IMC. The logic being used by the developer making this argument is simply incorrect. The reason it’s second choice is because it is TERRIBLE. It is simply so obnoxious to use that people choose to use a different control system.

If mouse mode were better, they would get more players sticking with the game. It is by far the mode that people WANT to use but can not because of how obnoxious it is. You can’t even bind mouse keys. You have to bind keyboard keys to the mouse to bind them. And you can’t unbind what already exists on mouse. It’s just horrible in every way. The entire system they’re using for controller/keyboard/mouse modes just being a proxy for “keyboard” is awful. The fact that if I try to test a different mode I am ALSO changing the keys for the other modes is also terrible. Bad in every single way.

I use a joypad. I would use mouse mode if it were not so terrible, I would prefer to use mouse mode, and I would argue that the VAST majority of players would prefer to use mouse mode - If it actually worked.

The fact that it is second choice even though it’s so bad is just astounding to me. People are willing to put up with all of its problems.

Joypad is better than mouse mode. That’s how bad it is. Fix it IMC. It’s worth fixing. The game feels OLDDD to players that prefer to use it otherwise, making your game feel dated to a majority of people the moment they first log into the game is not sensible. The majority of people try to use this mode first, then I’d wager several simply quit when they can not.

Seriously. First thing most people do when loading a game is check control modes. When the controls aren’t what they want or feel horrible, they quit. The majority of the western audience plays every game in Mouse+keyboard combine mode using WASD keys. @STAFF_Letitia

Dang~ not suprising but still annoying! Imo range-atking classes are best played with mouse mode while melee classes are best to play with Gamepad.
Keyboard is inferiot to both since you just cannont effectively move-target the right mob-use skill (in case or archer) besides the obvious limitation of being only able to press a few buttons ar once.

Mouse-mode really should get improved more since there are some skills just being infuriatingly slow when not used with a mouse e.g. Multi-Shot and Long Stride! [correct me if the have fixed this already]

Orsha originally IS a high lvl map lol …until they changed it based on people’s feedback …way back.
would be interesting to see if they really did decide to change it back later on tho

I’m actually still in love with gamepad even tho I’m a range character tho …don’t think I’ll be changing to mouse mode soon even when its not terrible…but of course, not everyone is like me.

Still …what happen to the custom remap for gamepad? did hear them saying want to add that option way back since cbt/obt …but still nothing even now >.>

i really hope they reconsider the server storability of trans-items, even if it’s just weapons
it could have been more convenient for my wizards and clerics to share the same trans’ed viena mace instead of having to craft each for them or intentionally not transcending the weapon (which, ofc, reduces the potential damage).

Though, the update we have, in itself, reduces the need for transcendence (high enhancement bonuses, pdef/mdef not able to reduce dmg to 1 anymore thus no need to trans armors and accessories, trans overall nerf) IMHO.

Well of course mouse mode is a second choice, it’s ■■■■■■■ terrible. There’s a TON of objects and npcs that simply cannot be interacted with if you’re on mouse mode, how can they expect any different? Nevermind that Wizards and to an extent Archers are AWFUL to play on keyboard.

“GvG is being worked on but since not so many players enjoys it, it’s not that important to being worked on instantly.”

maybe if they stopped crashing people would enjoy it more

Obviously what they meant is that the game was from the start designed with keyboard/controller-mode in mind, while mouse-mode was merely a demand they gave in to after a ridiculous amount of people kept asking about it for a long time.

What makes Mouse Mode even worse is that some objects suddenly are unclickable after patches (even tho they were fine before).
