Some insight into how the gear system might work

Assuming these are class wide attributes, it appears as though any class can wear any armour, and the type of armour seems to be tailored to boost specific builds. For example, a Monk stacking flee would probably go leather armour and a tanking Monk would go plate. I suppose if SP/mana become something you need as apposed to the betas we’ve seen so far. A support class might want to go cloth for more SP/mana.

I would assume that plate armour has a hefty weight when equipt, and since CON (VIT) is the stat responsibe for how much you can carry, it seems as though wearing plate as a flee based character might not be very easy, due to having no/low CON.

That’s what it seems like to me so far anyway
Any beta tester can confirm?

That would actually be a good thing to balance things out if flee type characters can’t wear plate armors.

Though I’m quite curious as to how other classes from the cleric branch would build since it seems like they would end up tanking a lot (Paladin and Monk comes to mind).

Well I’m still trying to learn most of the classes so I’m still not sure the optimal build for the others.

There are items that have job restriction, but all clases can use all kind of armors.

As far as I read on the wiki, many Plated Armors CAN be used by all clases, but there are lots of armors that are Swordman Only.

Take a look on these lvl 75 Gloves I found on the wiki:

You can see there that there are different kinds of gloves for each type of character, but the “Swordman Only” ones are the ones that have physical def. Soul Chaser gloves look (and weight) as plated and can be used by all classes and Bone Gauntlets are also plated but Swordman only.

You can see the same item behavior here with the lvl 40 Gloves.

I hope it serves you

Hmm, well most of the gear I’ve ever obtained never looked like cloth armor to me.

^ These were some sets of gear I had on my Wizard in CBT2. Most, if not all of them look like they would belong in the leather armor category.
