Some feedback before I leave the game

Dungeons:

  • Lacking a healer in dungeons ruined some of the game experience for me, I enjoy it when games are fast paced without having to take breaks (bonfire) after a single mob-wave. In a team full of damage dealers nobody wants to tank mobs because they hit for a lot unless you’ve built your character dex heavy and got lucky.

Suggestion:
Before entering a dungeon, there should be some kind of pop-up that displays all classes that are going to be in your party with the option to decline it if you don’t like the line-up.
Something like this:

(yes that’s from WoW and I do suck at photoshop)

  • If you die while a dungeon boss is at low health, you sometimes don’t have enough time to retrieve your loot because the map is too big (especially the 175 dungeon) so that it despawns before you reach it. You generally get no loot in dungeons, so atleast that bit of loot should be secured by adding it directly to the player’s inventory.

  • As a melee, I’m often unable to see what direction my character is facing before I want to use a skill, that’s mostly cause other characters effects block the vision on my character, causing that I miss my skill and it ends up on a high cooldown. I could obviously take more time before using a skill, but due to my nature as a DPS, I want to be able to use my skills asap.

  • Knockbacks. After typing “Knockbacks.” I just wanted to leave it at that because so many emotions come up. Anger. So annoying when you are channeling Hoplite’s Stabbing and someone decides it’s a good idea to knock the targets away. Please disable it in Dungeons or make premade groups have same EXP gain so that we can choose who to party with.

Class Specific:

  • Make tanking, aka Peltasta more viable. A full tank barely does any DPS, depending on build, so that he can’t hold aggro since Swash Buckling’s cooldown is too high. What often happens is that I use Swash buckling and someone does an insane burst which leads to aggro loss.

Open World Bosses:

  • I don’t like the World-Boss system. Apparently, in order to get loot from a world boss, you have to be in a group that contains one of the top 5 players that did the most damage to the boss. If the top 5 dps are from the same group, they seem to be getting 25 cubes, 5 for each player in the group.
It punishes players who aren’t anywhere near max level and have actual use for the gear.

  • During the Dullahan fight my FPS was incredibly low, nearly unplayable, especially if you are a melee since you have to go close to the boss in order to deal damage and have to dodge everything.
    I had about 12 fps~ with a decent computer. (780 Ti, i7 4820k)

Hearing that ToS only runs on 1 core and multi-core implementation is unlikely was really sad news for me.

Leveling:

  • I have to say I’m really suprised how well you programmed the quests. There wasn’t a single broken quest on my way to level 190 and I enjoyed all of them although they were quite repetitive. (defeat monsters, collect this and that… but I enjoyed ALL of them!!)

  • I hope there will be alternatives to grinding since it’s exhausting to do the same thing for hours, even weeks, just so that some integer in IMC 's database is increased by 1, also called a level up. Kappa. Unless I do it to farm certain items.

Closing words

I didn’t regret buying it. I just find it really unfortunate that such a great game is ruined by technical difficulties and few other things I mentioned.

Bad experience added up in my case and you eventually end up quitting if it’s too much.

I will definitely come back to this game in 1-1,5 years (right after wow:legion hype settles) and hope that it improved by then

IMC listens, we just need to give more constructive feedback and sugesstions instead of the pointless whining.

I want to end it with a dramatic effect:

Well good luck in your new game. Hope that ToS is actually playable for most when you came back.

An on point critique! You will be missed! Do drop by the forums from time to time if you have the time!

@Staff_Julie, @STAFF_Ethan: Please take note of the points made in this well written critique post.

Regarding Dungeons:

Eh, i think an instance queue system like Tera’s would be better than WoW’s, where you pick your own role and queue yourself as that role, but you cant pick healer if you dont have any healing skills and it will randomly party up 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS or you can take out a DPS for a Random out of all 3.

Regarding the Tanking:

Do you have a maxed provoke attribute from the Swordsman class? i havent encoutnered this problem myself on my Peltasta yet, but im wondering if even with a maxed provoke it still exists.

Can’t comment on World Bosses since i’ve yet to fight one.

And i agree with what you said about Leveling.

this is very true… I play a cleric, so while this doesn’t apply to me, random group/not having a healer in DG is my friends’ biggest gripe. One of them has already quit due to this. Another would only queue with me at the same time. Others not around my level are just constantly complaining on skype. I feel this is a major annoyance for most non-cleric players.

There are certainly some balance issues no doubt about it. People only take pelt1 for taunt and that’s about it. No one ever takes pel2 and 3. IMC should consider making them more useful in certain way, but seeing how they make balance changes every patch, I’m not too concerned however.

both points are spot on. I feel useful as a cleric since I do no damage. I can heal as much as I can but I feel I’m not really contributing to my party. Healing tiles and buffs help other parties instead of my own, making me feel like a drag.

I also played in dungeon queues without healer. It svcks so bad. However, i’ve met few awesome party mates who would finish the dungeon even w/o a healer. So pro. Lel.

Anyways, goodbye to you~ hope you find a game that will meet your standards.

*goes back on grinding spot *

I’m all for this. Roles is the better system because otherwise people will just deny some parties because of some classes that are underpowered or not that great for PvE. I think as long as we have all the roles, it’s fine.

I never saw someone gets more than 1 cube per boss. As far as I know your party have to deal decent damage to the boss and that’s it. 1 cube for each, and I highly doubt you have to be in the top 5 dps. I’m wugushi, and even tho it’s a high single target dps class, I doubt I’m always in the top 5. It’s pretty common to compete with higher lvl people, and so far I always got a cube from it.

Most of my dungeons have 3 (or otherwise 2) clerics. xD

For world bosses I think the biggest issue is the lag. That said I only done one on my laptop, havent done any yet on my actual gaming rig, so ill have to see if its playable there.

Yeah for me world bosses are a big issue because the game is not fully optimized, i had to do some adjustments to try and make it a bit better, but nothing extraordinary happened with my tweaks, my fps is around 5 when i get close to a world boss, too many players around, after the tweak i could get 8-10 fps, but still hell in bosses lol.

no.

top 6 highest DPS players get the cube.

so if top 5 players are in one party.
all 5 of them will get 1 cube each.

the 6th person with the highest dps, his party members + himself will get 1 cube each.
